What affect does the sky rocketing cost of gas have on the
Dallas Real Estate Market ! Many
Dallas area
home buyers &
home
sellers are reconsidering where they want to live based on gas prices.
Thousands of people flocked to the north in last 5 years are now trying to sell
and move back south do to driving times and rising gas prices. As you can
see below the distance from
Frisco, Texas to
Downtown Dallas is 24.0 miles or about 15 to 20 minutes without traffic.
With traffic this ride time can easily be an excess of one hour, which is
burning and wasting a lot of Gas. Plus you have to add in the tolls that you
will have to pay driving up and Down the North
Dallas Toll Way! So in many ways the savings you get on the sales price of a
home in North Dallas may be offset by the cost of transportation if you work or
spend time towards Downtown Dallas. However if you work North of the George Bush
Turnpike then it may not be an issue living in
Frisco,
McKinney,
Allen or
Plano. But if you work South of GB then the extra cost of Gas and Tolls may
play a significant role in were you would like to buy your next home. The same
issue effects sellers looking to move closer to their jobs in order to cut back
on rising gas prices.
