Unexpected check in the mail: $448.27 (!)

I apologize if I am stuck on the topic of insurance lately. I almost had it out of my system when I opened an envelope from Amica (homeowners policy) this morning with a check for almost $450.

This is the result of a premium reduction, thanks to my sending them the report from my recent My Safe Florida Homes inspection. Presumably, my rate will be lower in future years too, so all I can say is ... I wish I had done it sooner!

Now, the free inspections are winding down, as I mentioned in a previous post. My tip: go to www.mysafefloridahome.com now and sign up, right now.

After the money dries up (or if you want a house other than your primary residence inspected) I seem to recall that you can always pay for an inspection, and that it's about 150 bucks. Still a pretty good return on investment.

Thanks for the reminder for those in FL! Checks in the mail are always nice!
