Random acts of kindness is the real estate market?  What can you do today in the real estate market to make a difference?

After reading all 242+ comments on Lenn Harley's recent blog I thought all the energy spent pointing fingers was exhausting and non-productive.  So, how do I change that feeling and make a positive difference?  Is it buying a Caribou or Starbucks for the person behind me in line?  Is it buying the young mother's groceries behind me in line?  Is it buying an item at check out for the young kids behind me?  Making dinner for my neighbors and their kids?  Oh wait, they're making me dinner tonight - how great!  Then I thought "What can I do to Pay It Forward and make a difference in the real estate market."  So, I started a list here and will stop so you can add to it - let's Pay It Forward and work together to make a difference!

How can I Pay It Forward in the real estate market? 

For my real estate business partners:

  • Send one of my business partners a good to great buyer lead?
  • When I do the annual review, make sure I mention the realtor.
  • Treat their buyer referrals as my only client - that is very well taken care of.
  • Do what is in the best interest of our mutual client?
  • Get out there and drum up additional business instead of waiting for the phone to ring.

For my mortgage clients:

  • Thoroughly and completely understand their needs and comfort levels.
  • Thoroughly and completely explain all their options including the fine details so they are educated and knowledgeable regarding the short and long term effects of their all their mortgage decision.
  • Thoroughly and completely respect the confidentiality of any and all information.
  • Respect their comfort levels in regard to payment.
  • Respect their feelings when you tell them what they can actually get qualified for.
  • Be utmost caring, understanding and professional.
  • Propose loan programs, rates and closing costs using integrity.
  • Treat them in ways that will establish them as Clients For Life.
  • Be creative and knowledgeable.
  • When in doubt, ask...never get stuck with problems that make the transaction anything but a great experience.
