Today is Sunday, so for me, it's a Good God Day to "Walk A Mile In My Shoes" or someone else's for that matter. <ROAR!>

Hi TLW:

Thanks for the video.  This morning I learned that the US has been at war for FIVE years today - that's longer than WWII.  God help us.

To All...

I have put this video up for several reasons. It is not just about our government's conflict in the Middle East. I have found myself a little dismayed to see other Christians on Active Rain judging others based on the fact that they are not Christians. That is not our place. Judgment belongs to God and only God. I have also seen judgments being placed on others just because someone is different or subscribes to theology that is not identical to theirs. Again, this is not our place. To see other Christians behave this way is very disappointing. It tells me that they have much to learn and do not fully comprehend God's grace. I hope the message "Walk A Mile In My Shoes" will help some people understand the concept that judgment belongs to God. We can not see inside the hearts of mankind. Therefore, there is no way for us to know what other people are thinking, feeling or going through. So, walk a mile in someone else's shoes today. What do you have to lose except a judgmental attitude?

That's interesting!

Jesus never judged anyone, He just told them the Truth...it was left up to the individual to accecpt it and allow the Truth to make them free! He seven said, "I came not to condemn the world,  but to save it"  hsi whole mission was to SEEK & SAVE that which was lost!

I think too many times we veer off the charachcter of our Lord and misrepresent Him to the degree that others don't want anything to do with Him...WOE!

We must cnnstantly stay in the Word so that we are conformed to His image.

Jah Bless!

TLW and Toya -Amen to that!! The whole point of being a Christian is while you are growing spiritually - you are also pointing others to Him by reflecting God's Love -not judgement. Anyone who is judging others may want to take that 2x10 out of their own eye while they are complaining about  the toothpick in someone else's eye.

Just today I was speaking with a dear friend, and he said, "Time is relative, but truth is absolute -- trouble brews when people try to make truth relative and time absolute".

He went on to give an example:  "Say you are frolicking in the meadow with the love of your life -- a half an hour feels like seconds.  Now, lets say you are forced to sit on a hot stove -- how long is that half hour now?"

The truth?  Half an hour is half an hour.

Second Truth?  Someone wasn't acting very loving when they put our hypothetical person on a hot stove.  Is that judging them?  Of course not, rather, and to TLW and Toya's posts, it is more of a calling for us to help two people instead of one (the one on the stove, and the one that put them there).

Third truth;  It's easy to be critical of the things we do not control, but to control the things we are critical of, well, I'm just echoing what TLW has already shown us (in a timely and wonderful way, BTW).  Nicely done TLW!

Thanks TLW!!

TLW,

Great video clip and thought. I am just reading "A new kind of Christian", very interesting and goes along with this thought. Our modern thinking leads us to want to be right or wrong, to have rules to judge oursleves and others. But it is a challenge to not judge, to leave it to God and to simply love and just point others to Christ.

Thanks for the inspiration and the example of having fun and enjoying life.

Nick

You know I have found that the more someone judges/criticize others, the more they judge/criticize themselves.

Bill...

Boy. I so agree with you about that. Not only do they criticize themselves they honestly believe that everyone is guilty of the same things they are. Which of course makes them even more judgemental. People that do this live their own self created world. I imagine the world they create for themselves is not a very happy place to be. I have also found that some people are the most critical when they see their own bad habits and behavior in someone else.
