Announcing my new Activerain outside blog

EXTRA, EXTRA....READ ALL ABOUT IT!!

With all the chat last week about the new Localism, I forgot to introduce my new Activerain outside blog.

Why?

I don't know, I just liked it and I bought the domain months ago.

I love that I can send the local posts over there and keep the more Activerain community (industry people talking to industry people) over here.

It is such a time saver to be able to write one post and send it to that site, without having to maintain another site.

Mine's plain old, ServingFrisco.com. Not much changes from my Active Rain blog! But yes, it does have more specific real estate stuff only!

Missy - Loved the name - great out of the box thinking - and expected the banner picture would be a little undressed. I really like it. Check out if you like www.lakelandrealestateblog.com - still thinking my title "Petra's Blog in Lakeland, FL is missing something.

Hi Missy, Great Job and it has a fun relaxed feel that entices you on. The coffee, newspaper , it has such a wonderfully personal look and feel.

PS, what would also be cool was if it was more clear that you could leave a comment, not just that you had some. If the person didn't know to click there, leaving a comment is not an option. Maybe AR could improve this at some point. They are pretty busy now but maybe in the fall they could address this idea.

Missy - Looks great. Have you figured out a strategy yet for what goes on "Undressed" and what goes on Ann Arbor Real Estate Talk?

I just spent some time on both blogs and it looks like there is different content on both. At least, the first few posts on each are different but they both seem to be about real estate so it doesn't look like one is more community based and one more real estate based which is what I thought some folks might do.

Are you planning on putting original content on both, posting the same info on both or mixing it up? I am trying to figure this out myself right now and haven't found any answers as yet. Both blogs look great, by the way.

I am working on my outside blog,but I'm not sure if I should get another domain name.... Instead of using longislandrealproperty...... what do you think... should I keep this name...

Aloysius, I am doing some duplicate postings but not every post. My AnnArborRealEstateTalk blog is getting a little neglected with all the new enhancements on Activerain. I am going to keep AnnArborUndressed more real estate specific. However, they will both be about real estate in some form.

Kelly, I read yours looks good and good idea keeping with a theme for your web site and blog.

Carole, that is why I am up at 12:02 and will be up at 6:30, getting it all done.

Donna, I would have a different domain for each blog.

Kim, I have it down to 4.36 minutes and still need to edit more. Oh my, this is HARD !!

Hi Missy, I don't seem to generate your comments on my blog but I have enjoyed following you and learning from you. Wanted you to know that I posted this same 'newspaper' on my site several days ago using my favorite 'real estate, bare naked' phrase, which has been on my banner for months. Hope to meet you and your daughter in SF.

MISSY - The outside blog looks good. I have to get to work on mine. I've just been a little frustrated with the layout issues, so I haven't spent time on it so far.

Missy I love the domain name you picked and the look of your outside blog. It was a wonderful idea that they did that. I havent come up with a new domain name yet but working on that.

Missy, I do not know who this Ann Arbor is but the idea of going to see her at a site where she is undressed just seems highly inappropriate! I am a married man! I can not beleieve you would advertise such a site! Just kidding! I went by for a visit! Looks good. I enjoyed the fourth of July video!

Funny comment I don't think of Ann Arbor as a woman... and I think Ann Arbor is named after two women who were named Ann and the arbor has to do with trees or foliage?

To me Ann Arbor is just the place where U of M is.. maize and blue... and until I moved to Columbus although I have always lived in the midwest. I did not know where U of M was or have a clue about Ann Arbor.

If I did a blog called Columbus Undressed would Stephen think of Christopher Columbus in the buff? I don't think of the city of Columbus being named after a person. Every Columbus Day it is like.... "oh yeah!"

Missy- You blog looks wonderful and I love to title. I am sure it will be a popular site for real estate info and news about Ann Arbor.

http://www.KnoxvilleMLSMember.com is the URL for my outside blog. It seems to be OK to use "MLS" in a domain name as long as it can't be mistaken for a "real" MLS whatever that might be.

Maureen, I would not go to a site that advertised "Columbus in the Buff" either! I am an equal opportunity non peeper (if there is such a thing!) Maybe if I had been to Ann Arbor I wouldnt have thought of her as a woman. Ann has never invited me for a visit though.
