I'm starting to seriously review this site in the context of promoting my real estate clients and it's been interesting so far. It's obvious a lot of thought has been put into the tools - it remains to be seen how much effort it takes for this to result in leads for my clients. :)

My focus may be a bit narrow, however it's generally on the highest return on investment at any given time. Feel free to touch base if you have any insights to share on what you would consider the most effective / highest ROI ways to leverage this site.

Cheers,
Leif Jason

5 Comments on Auditing ActiveRain

Hi Lief,

The investment here for most of us is TIME.

I have been blogging for a few months, regularley, and I am networking and learning alot!

I haven't closed any deals yet from it, but I have some good "maybes". It is somewhat  random how quickly or how slowly one can actually have paid leads and referrals from here. I believe in active rain for two reasons: networking and learning. I see my blogs one the first page of google when I am searching for various things, WOW!

Clarify your question for me a bit more, please!

Thanks,

BethAnn in Spokane

I agree with BethAnn.

Have been some time on AR, got invovled in blogging and commenting, not much in terms of leads, though got a deal closed, where the buyer told me he read my blogs on AR.

Not that I am waiting miracles, and for me this is a networking site first and foremost, and also a terrific place to learn.

I have to say the most value I get out of this is the knowledge, insight and contacts I've made here. We all have our reasons for keeping in touch with AR :)

Thanks for the comments folks - BethAnn, to answer your question and clarify my statement a bit...

I aim to generate leads for my clients, it's really the main thing I do. Primarily I'm focused on search engine optimization, so that my client's prospective customers in their geographic locales find my clients prominently when searching for real estate related phrases - in addition I implement changes to my client's sites that make it clearer how prospective customers can contact my clients or otherwise engage with them.

So, in the context of ActiveRain, I'm wondering what people have found to be the most effective in terms of leveraging this site to get leads. If the site can be useful in that way than I can work with my clients to explain the other values of being involved with the online community.
