I happened to be in one of my favorite places last night - the Sleepy Hollow dog park in Kingsland Point Park. As I was leaving I saw all the boats on the Hudson River. One thing about being around the river towns such as Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown and Irvington of Westchester is that there is always a beautiful view. On a bright and warm summer evening its possible to see kayaking and sailing along the Hudson. Tonight was such a night and as luck would have it, my trusty camera was on-hand. I was even lucky enough to catch the sunset. Sleepy Hollow is a beautiful village, packed with history, character and beauty....Enjoy the photos and you can see for yourself.

Ruthmarie,

What a beautiful evening for a walk.  I can only imagine, all the pressures of the day left before you were ready to go back home.  Thank you for sharing.

Lovely pictures and how nice to have a dog park there.  I don't know how I'd keep my dog out of the water! Do they also have an area for dogs to get their toes wet? Thanks for the lovely photos.

Ruthmarie, you've captured some beautiful images, love the color of the sky. We're looking for a canoe right now ; I can imagine how nice it would be to watch a sunset from the water. I'm sure the dogs are happy to get out too!

Thanks Don - It's a great place to unwind and get some exercise too.  The dogs have their friends at Sleepy Hollow and I have mine.  Lot's of doggie friends where we have a laugh or two and sometimes a party and talk about the day etc.

Hi Laura - some people do let their dogs run into the river and fetch.  They NEED to be water dogs (huskie's aren't) becuase there are currents etc.  But there are some places where dogs go into the water.   I didn't want to go there with my guys and my camera...too risky.  Some time when I'm around there without at least Tundra (Jade is easy to control) I'll try and get some pics of that.

Hi Eleanor - the county is trying to keep DIRECT riverfront property open to the public...though builders would LOVE to boast exclusive rights to owners.  They are building a river walk that is supposed to end up being continuous from the Putnam border to the border of the Bronx.  I wrote a couple of blogs on riverwalks in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.

Hi Debbie - My camera did well for me this time EXCEPT for the last shot which came out a bit too "yellow."  I used some color correction and this is very close to what my eye actually saw.  The reality was it was a tad more "pink." But the yellow sun overwhelms it and any more adjustment made the image too dark with resources I have right now.

Hi Teri - Thanks - taking nice pictures on a night like that is like shooting fish in a barrel - you can't really miss!  I'm pretty good with a camera - but I one-armed blind monkey would have gotten a good shot under these circumstances.

Hi Bob - GREAT biking around the area generally.  Tons of linear parks just perfect for bikes. You'd love it.  Let me know if you are coming!

I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I am relatively new to AR and have noticed you have received a lot of points and have achieved a remarkable high ranking. Congratulations! May I ask if you have had success in turning your high ranking into business? I am curious if it has been a profitable venture personally as well as financially. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in your business.
