I realize it may seem blasphemous posting this poll here at active rain, but... I'm curious which social networking site REALTORS find actually help their business the most.

Don't get me wrong active rain is great for networking, and has a ton of great information, but is there one of these sites listed your business couldn't live without?

If you enter "other" please leave a comment indicating which site it is - thank you!

The best network IS Active Rain. Posting information geographical blogs  .... listings, area information, etc ... having them posted to the consumer via Localism (which is a branch of Active Rain) gives you some added google juice. I have received a few contacts and actually have just sent a listing package to take a listing from someone who found me on localism.

I am going to go check out a few of the ones that you have listing that I am not a member of - if they are free to join, I normally sign up for them and make sure to link to my website - and vice versa - I figure it can't hurt, but I use ActiveRain exclusively for my blogging.

Alan,  By far Active Rain is the best social networking way to market your business.  I love Active Rain.

Thats a good question Alan. I'm glad you asked! I see plenty of realtors on these websites but have they actually gotten referrals and made any money selling real estate? also there are plenty of free websites to post listings of course that are not on your list as well! for example realtor.com? But I guess you wanted to only include "social networking" websites? To answer your question I like the networking and information on active rain but I could live without the majority of these "social networking" websites! Do you consider Active Rain to be a "Social Networking" website? I consider it more of a professional networking website!

Stephen- thank you for your comments. Looks like you were able to read between the lines and see one thing I was wondering by posting this poll. I see a lot of REALTORS on these networking sites, and they're just not on one of them but all of them plus more than I listed.  I'm partially guilty too and was wondering if it's really worth it? It seems like a lot of time to maintain all these accounts across multiple sites. There can be benefits besides referrals and making money such as education, networking and just having some uunbiased 3rd party in a forum/chat room/blog to bounce ideas off of.

Also, I was curious if maybe there was anything else out there that I haven't heard about.

"social networking" seems to be one of the the latest buzz words. Just as web 2.0 can be tricky to define so can social networking. I consider active rain to be a social networking site that caters to a specific niche - professional REALTORS.

Alan, I just cast my vote for Active Rain. I have an account at every other one except wanna network as I have not heard of that one.  I really don't get much benefit from the others.  The only exception would be linked in as I can also link to my clients.

I am apart of some of the others but I really get great results on AR.
