There is a new top level domain .me. Here is another chance to get your name or personal brand in a domain. If you missed out on prior opportunities to get your name in a domain now is your chance.

A website like a .name or .me can be used for a number of purposes. One idea I really like is to use this type of site to create an online resume. You can create a website of testimonials or perhaps a portfolio. The uses are endless and another web property in your internet portfolio can never hurt your marketing effort.

Interesting... I wonder if it'll take off. .info hasn't really taken off and most sites are informational based.

Could be a powerful tool. Like Donna, I wonder where this will go. I also wonder what will happen with the other extensions I've heard about, for example those that are profession based.

All - Thanks for the great feedback. The reason why new extensions are created is simply because they sell and are used. In my experience the best use for secondary domain extensions is to support and extend your personal brand and primary website. I view it as an opportunity to add another tool in the tool chest.

I love the idea. Though I have mine in .com and .net, one more certainly couldn't hurt. Maybe I could think of another good reason to use one. Ideas, please? ;-)

I love this idea too! I had never thought about this but you post bring this forward and makes so much sense. Thank You so much for the enlightenment. I saved this on del.icio.us as Urgent plus other words but Urgent means do something now.
