Home is a place where memories are made, and children are born and raised. Home is where the HEART IS! So why would anyone want to change that when it is time to sell that home? Isn't this what makes buyers feel all warm and fuzzy??  NO!!!

As a Professional Home Staging Expert the FIRST THING I always recommend is to remove all the family photos.  It is time to take your HOME and turn it back into A HOUSE. A HOUSE THAT A REALTOR CAN SELL to a NEW FAMILY. These new families need to envision their lives in these homes and begin to imagine all the memories they will create in that house. Oftentimes, a seller's home is filled to the brim with so many family photos and memorabilia accumulated over the years that it can actually hinder a buyer from seeing THEIR HOUSE.

The following pictures are a perfect example of this. This is an older Victorian home I staged this week. It was beautiful, but a buyer's first impression upon entering the living room was what???

Family photos, as well as too much furniture. Did you notice the fireplace right away? What about the beautiful hardwood floors? Does this room seem large to you?

After decluttering, neutralizing and staging you now have a HOUSE that a BUYER CAN SEE! RESTYLED TO SELL HOME STAGING...changing the way buyer's view homes. Call today for your in home consultation at 732-995-3425

I agree there is way to much stuff in this home! When I show someone a home I have notice there faces when we walk into a place that has so much crap that you can not picture your own stuff in the home. I know when I was looking myself there where homes that I just wouldnt consider becuase of all the clutter and other homes that after looking at again with less clutter they were not what I wanted either just because I could visualize my stuff there. I think that for most people they do not want to look at a cluttered place even if they live like that!!!!

Phyllis:  The proof is definitely in the pictures.  What a difference !  I liked the cozy, somewhat organized clutter in the first picture, but I must admit, the second picture would sold me.  Also, I noticed the fireplace but only after I noticed what was hanging on the fireplace first and the fireplace did not make that much of an impression until I saw it in the second picture.  Great job.

Thanks Donna. the actual piece hanging on the fireplace displayed their family name, so that had to go. The fireplace inset and trim was also painted a darker shade from the walls to give it that extra pop. This was a great house to stage and the clients were FABULOUS. But I have to tell you that upon the initial consult and report the client was NOT HAPPY and cried. She absolutely loves the house now and IS READY TO MOVE ON!

The Open House is next week so we all have our fingers crossed..

Thanks Phyllis Pafumi

Very nice change in room quality and Feel.   Always get rid of photos and any personnel stuff so new buyers can picture their own stuff in the rooms.

My first impression is total chaos, and a turn-off from all the distraction going on in the room.  Great job revamping.

Phyllis ~ I actually felt "blocked" from this room with the sofa table with all the family photographs.  It also looked much smaller in the before picture.  Your staging really opened the room up and made me feel like I could enter it now.

Beautiful transformation.  I love my daughters, but would never put the amount of photos out personally.

I'm sure the owners loved what you did.
