State Hwy. 6 between Bryan/College Station Texas and Hearne Texas has been undergoing some recent upgrades and repaving. The speed at which the contractors strip and repave a one mile lane of asphalt is absolutely phenominal, compared to just a few years ago. The giant stripping machines strips, and grinds the old highway surface which is then recycled.
It is really great that they are able to reuse these recycled material in these tough times. Asphalt is petroleum base.
Trey: That is great to hear; especially since the weather has been dry. Of course we could use some rain. I heard they crush glass and plastic now and work this into the asphal from the recycle. We have a really good recycle program here in Comal County. I read today they are going to expand the program.

Trey, highway workers never get enough credit as it is a massive job to keep doing. I just wish the materials would last a lot longer than they do and the TxDOT roads within cities could be repaired by the cities themselves.
Too bad they seem to be working at a slower rate on the road in front of your office. I bet you are glad they finished with the feeder road.

They are actually moving pretty fast in front of the office ...those massive pillars are engineering feats! They fascinate me. I tell you .. the real highway that effects my business is the information highway. Phsical Walk-in business is a nominal portion of our total activity in sales these days. The new "walk-ins" are referrals, relocation, and website generated.
