Looks like the people are speaking.  The question becomes...IS THE VILLAGE LISTENING.  It only took, what, 250 people to get the referendum on the ballot to create this quagmire, but they needed over 2000, yes two-thousand, signatures to get the ballot to state, 'LET'S KICK OUR NEW VILLAGE TO THE CURB.  Long overdue.

The village had a short notice meeting to discuss the actions of the village clerk.  You can find the referendum for the DISSOLUTION OF  CAMPTON, www.villageofcamptonhills.org/Resolutions/R-08-17.pdf as well as the emergency board minutes that focused, for the most part on the clerk....not the resolution.

I've spoken to people who supported the creation of this village who now see what's really happening have, "hands down", come to see the light.  I'm told that there are some who lobbied for the village and are now strongly opposed to it as what exists is not what was contemplated when the village was created.

Me????  I'm hopeful.....really hopeful that this community (it's not a community b/c there don't appear to be servant leaders to bring a community together) entity will dissolve.  I've been to a number of the meetings and am not pleased with what's being put forth.

With so many subdivision filing to get out.....why do the leaders want to hold them hostage?  I have spoken to a number of people who oppose what's being done and Patsy Smith just lays them out on the phone.  Too bad....I doubt Kane County ever did that.

Stay tuned.....let's work together to get rid of the expenses and go back to the free rural life that we're so fond of.  Band together my friends....it's game time and maybe, just maybe the folks in the white cowboy hats will win this time.

It is difficult for a community to thrive without some sort of formal organization such as a community or township.  The free rural life that you mention is probably on the way out.  This is not necessarily good, but it is changing in many areas daily.  Good luck in getting that back.

Shelia...we all hope that we can retain what we have the power to do.  Most of us moved to the rural area to be in a township and not a village.  I fully believe that a few egos got this through and are fighting to keep their power.  We'll see where things end up.

Wondering Mark

Please explain exactly what you mean by "free rural life".  I see no diference in CH life since VCH.  I have the same freedoms I always have had.  Now with better police protection and more direct representation.  Get rid of what expensives?  Have you paid one cent more in taxes or anything?  If you have please tell me.  I want the truth, not egos - from both sides.

Mark...thanks for the inquiry.  Objectively here is your request.  I'm withya.  I agree that the police presence is better.  You are correct.  Having said that it wasn't really lacking pre VCH either.  They had the substation in Wasco and a good presence.  Just b/c I see more police cars isn't a reason to retain incorporation.  I'm not sure if you've been to the meetings or not, but I have.  The fact that 15 subdivisions want out, VCH said they wouldn't fight disconnects, now they are.  Attorney's fees are through the roof.  Just b/c we haven't received the increased tax bill doesn't mean that it's not coming.  The expenses can't be borne without revenue being raised.  The only control on the income is through taxation.  Finally, objectively, I see so many things that are negatives as a result of VCH.  Objectively, other than more police cars being seen (while taking on a police force budget) I fail to see what benefit that we've gained by creating more bureacracy.  I like your objectiveness here Mark....you seem to have a lack of ego in this discussion.  Give me some more of your thoughts.  I can go on and on, but I'm open to your further thoughts.  Thanks for participating.
