I know I am more conscience of the way I drive since becoming a real estate agent.  I always think of public impressions and the first impressions mean everything, right?  So sometimes I am more conscience of how I drive.  Maybe because I am getting older or maybe it because I am a professional real estate agent, none the less it can't be a bad thing.

Although I have not been in a auto accident in quite sometime, I can't say I always obey the traffic laws.  I don't know why because I really hate paying tickets!

Yesterday I was in a vehicle that I normally do not drive and I was talking on the phone (as usual).  Talking on the cell is not illegal in this state.  I know it is not the safest thing to do.

I noticed that there was an agent behind me.  I could tell by the movement of his mouth that he was cussing me about the way I was driving.  I was driving slowly.

I tried to get his attention but obviously he was too busy and too much in a hurry to be bothered with me.

Later I emailed him and told him I saw him driving.  As soon as he got the email he called and said, "Was you driving the white van in front of me going too slow?"  I said yes and laughed.  We both laughed.

Moral of the story, be careful who you are cussing out as you are driving down the road... just because you don't recognize the car does not mean you may not know who is driving. :-)

I have my logo on my car and often that interferes with my "freedom to express" when driving. But also with cloeints as we are on the mountains I often drive slowly as they are not used to winding roads and the ups and downs

I do not have my logo JUST for that reason,I know I am pissing people off, texting, talking, E-mailing and somtimes just getting lost!

Charlie I love those country & moutain roads.  I do get a little carried away when I get on them and forget out of towners may not like them as much.

Darin I am exactly the same.

Nannette, I don't have my sign on my vehicle any longer. I do drive and talk on the phone as well. I will always drive the way I want to drive. Let the other people act like fools.

When you have a sign/logo on your vehicle, you have to be careful of your image.  I've always been an agressive driver with a heavy foot.  Can't stand passive drivers who can't make a decision or seem like they are afraid to drive.  It "drives" me crazy. (pun intended).  If I have a sign on my vehicle though, I certainly have to slow down, which is a good thing really.  Gas prices have really slowed me down too.  It costs too much to go faster.

I have my website address on the back of my van and 2 magnetic signs with my contact information in BOLD...I am always aware of that.

Nanette:  I used to have a magnet on my car with my name and number and the company logo on it.  I had it until I got pulled over by the Haymarket police out of 5 other speeding cars.  Why me?  he recognized the magnet from before, when I was going a little over the speed limit.  I threw it in the trash that night.

Frank  used to have a sign on my car.  It did remind me to be more careful.  But I just thought about if I was in an accident and if the person I was in an accident with would know I was a realtor they may think... Oh, she has tons of money... Oh, my neck really hurts bad now... You know folks these days are suit happy.

Gregory Gas has slowed me down too!

Ernie I have contact info on my car but not super big.  I prefer to be more discrete.

Chris:  YES Exactly.  Don't need a neon sign on your car when you are speeding! LOL!

Nanette... What if that had been one of his customers... Wouldn't have set too well with him would it... So much for road rage...

Nanette,

I agree with you about driving. I have become more conscience about driving especially since I was rear ended with clients in my car.. Thankfully those clients were family. But no more do idrive with clients in my car.. It is alwasy you can follow me. I have always use blinkers and I hate it when other people don't. I do have realtor tags... So I know that I definately slowdown.... and am more careful to make sure that I have my ear piece ready to go......  I love that so I am hands free. thanks
