I just caught this on CNN...

Starbucks has released the entire list of the 600 stores that will be closing by the end of this year due to slacking performance.

Once I had heard this, I jumped on the website and found the list of stores.  Actually, none of the stores that are closing are in Montana...a surprising twist considering the deminished economic state that we are in up here.

Thank the stars that my triple-shot, half-caf, grande, low-fat, carmel, not-macho mocha is still going to be available for only $5 a cup because Lord knows that I surely cant live without that jolt to my heartrate, blood pressure, and my wallet.  (Its a drug...Im addicted.  LOL)

Check out the list to see if your store is closing...

I heard the news this morning.  Fortunately, only one of Arizona's Starbucks is scheduled to close..atleast according to this mornings news.  It is in Eloy...a smaller town.

Another good coffee spot at least here in the Phoenix area is The Paradise Bakery.  Good coffee, nice fresh muffins and cookies and other treats!

Hope this perks up your morning....Janis

Janis -- I saw Eloy on the list...I think its the first one on the list, actually.  Believe me, this town is not lacking on places to get coffee...lol.  Personally, I dont drink coffee at all.  But, from an economic standpoint, not losing the stores is a good thing.

Clint,

How can you pay 5 dollars for a cup of coffee and still keep smiling??? LOL, Thanks,   Fran

Fran -- I have no idea how people can afford to drink it any more.  I gave it up entirely a couple years ago after a big bout with kidney stones...a process that will make you lose all of your vices and rethink your religous beliefs...LOL

Thanks for the link. When I checked I found one of the stores I frequent is closing but I don't usually drink the coffee. I use them as auxillary offices. They are great places to meet buyers because they are so previllant. If it's inconvenient for the buyer or for me to meet at the office before touring property we would meet at the Starbucks in the area we were to look. I guess I'll have to find another location in South Austin.

Hi Clint. We are losing the Starbucks down the street from my office.  I suspect a lot of sluggish and undercaffeinnated real estate agents in the near future. :)

Robin -- I have alot of friends that do the exact same thing.  They are easy to find...and very non-threatening to potential clients.  Good point.

Steve -- LOL!  Im sure someone will pop up that will fill the void.  Heck, if you open a coffee shop in your office, you will have the busiest office on the street.  LOL

Whew!  Fullerton was spared!  Must be because we are such a college town and my all the Starbucks here are always packed!  Thanks for the info and I am happy to know that I will still have my vice :o)

Atlanta and surrounding areas got hit. Was kinda surprised the one by the Georgia Aquarium/World of Coke is closing...but I suspect the rent is outrageous there....at least the one across my office will still be there...altho as part of the sign of the times, I don't frequent Starbucks much anymore.

Quik Trip has got a mean French Vanilla Cappuccino out of a machine for $1.09 compared to the same at Starbucks for $4.80....hmmmmm

Starbucks gives me bellyaches even though I think it is yumalicious.  I learned to duplicate my own Iced Mocha using an old fashioned perculator, dunkin coffee, a lil sugar and some hershey's syrup.  YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Even Starbucks beans make me shake and give me gut aches.

Thom -- Im a fan of those machined latte's...Same jolt...1/4 the price.  :-)

Renee -- Some other people that I have talked with about this have told me that Starbucks coffee makes them sick...literally, not figuratively.  :-)

Clint, I can't believe I just read all 17 pages. Me, a tea person. (LOL) It is critical news, by the way: As goes Starbusks, so goes the money trail... They produce excellent demographics!

You watch too much CNN, I think it's worse for your health than the coffee

We are one town that was spared the axe. Although I haven't been in a while i would hate if it went away.

Lizette -- Yeah, Montana got spared entirely...surprisingly.  I dont even drink coffee, but the economic impact of not having them here would be far worse.
