For new home buyers, this is the simplest way to avoid the problem altogether.

Joe, Great info thanks.. I just got a phone call from someone offering me a credit card, and I have not submitted an application for one in a couple of years.
Thank you for sharing this great information. I wonder if I can tell my current credit card companies to stop sending me offers and free checks hoping I will use them.
