It's time for some R&R and so here we are - including my dog Katie - at the Shores hotel in Daytona Beach. When I booked it, I truly couldn't believe I had managed to find a hotel of this standard which was pleased to welcome my dog!
But they do and it's wonderful
Today Katie saw the ocean for the first time and it really was like bringing your kid to Disney for the first time! She was so excited and ran into the water and started swimming before I was even aware of it.
Considering she had major surgery this year, I was really pleased to see how well she did. Now she is exhausted!!!
So - if you are looking for somewhere in Florida that is of the highest quality AND that will allow you to bring your dog, I can strongly recommend this place.
Daytona has a "no dogs on the beach" policy, but rightly they have provided a doggy beach to go along with this. Tomorrow we will be going back again for another hour or so and then we will hang out by the pool. The hotel has told us that Katie can go anywhere in the hotel except actually IN the pool. But she can hang out next to the pool. She can also sit in the restaurant while we eat.
They charge a $250 refundable deposit assuming she does no damage and then they charge $25 a night for her.
I'll post picture of Katie's seaside adventures when I get back on Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Simon- That is really neat that you could find a place that welcomes your dog. Let me know the name of that hotel so I can make sure I never stay there:) My son is deathly allergic to dogs.
