Stewart, I am in the third fattest state.  I don't feel that fat but I guess I could use to lose 20 lbs.

Wow---how fat are they---I could lose a few, who does't---and I see a lot of fat people here in California as well!  Thanks for sharing---going on a diet, tomorrow!

The District of Columbia would be right up there with the fattest if it were a state!  I could lose a few!

Stewart,

I have been posting everytime I see Chattanooga on a national top 10 list, but I accidentally omitted this list.

Thanks for the mention:)

Stewart - I could rant and rave all day long on your post about this subject.  Lucky for you I won't!  We, as a country, really need to make a change and it starts with our kids and better habits and common sense.  That's all I'm saying!  :)

Hi Stewart,

Nice to see that MA wasn't on this list! :)

Why are most of the top ten states in the South? It must be that so good southern cooking.

07/19/2008 09:09 AM by Michael Setunsky (Michael's Commercial LLC)

Thank God, I'm in Jersey. For once it's a good thing.

The southern states or more laid back, no one is in a rush. The southern diet is a lot of friend foods.

I joke with my daughter all the time, I go to NC for fast food and there is no "fast" foods down there, no one hussles, but I love the Southern hospitality, so i JUST RELAX AND WAIT.

Stewart.. I read this too on CNN's website.  I'm glad I'm in the northeast.. as mentioned above everything in moderation is the way to go.. and less carbs (in my opinion)

Does that mean I look skinnier compared to the average Arkansan?  Fantastic!!!

UGH!  I'm in the #1 state (MS).  Guess I could say that it's because of all the good food & good cooks.  I have to wonder if the numbers possibly relate to the poverty percentage.  Seems like I have heard that obesity rates are higher in lower economic regions(?)

Whew!  The "Buckeye" state didn't make the list!  lol  When I was younger it was easy to stay in shape.  I was active.  I coached high school athletics and conditioned on a regular basis.  But... the years caught up with me... it became a struggle to keep those pounds off!  And yeah, I'm not at the weight those charts say I should be... but then I don't think I ever was.  When I was younger I could always say it was muscle... today... it must be the conversion of all that muscle into "other forms of matter."

They must not be getting enough seafood down there.  and they're not eating it raw.  haha

I blame it on parents who insisted their children clean their plate before leaving the table- the plates are way bigger in Texas!

07/24/2008 07:41 PM by Mary Jo Schaffer Bandera Texas Real Estate (Sweetheart Realty)

Hey you can clean your plate, it's what on the plate that matters!!!  Proportion is essential and "good proteins", "good carbs" and "good fats" are the key to good dietary needs.
