I just finished cutting my lawn. It is 93 degrees F outside. I have been putting off cutting it because it was too wet, too hot, too dark out, have to meet a client, too tired. I think it is time I hire a professional. I can hire a high school aged neighbor who cuts several lawns in the subdivision, or I can hire a lawn cutting company. They both seem to do a comparable job. Show of hands, should I hire the neighborhood kid or the landscape guys?

I would go with the kid. I like to reward initiative and after he is gone (moved away) you can hire a pro.

That is a toughy...  I personally enjoy cutting my grass.  I just hate everything else.  When I cut the grass, my brain has almost NOTHING to do... great idea time.

Get the kid if he is doing good work.

As the mother of teenaged boys, I say give it to the kid.  Gives 'em speinding money, work ethic, and self esteem.

Gee hard one, hire the kid with a work ethic or hire the company that will subcontract the job to someone else and take a piece of the money.

Richard,

I hired a kid in the neighborhood 6 years ago.....$20.00 per cut at the time for my acre + and it includes weed whacking and cleanup.....

Today I pay only $40.00 per cut.....and I have never looked back.

Thanks for supporting my posts too.
