The Sky is falling or is it...The American Dream of home ownership is still there

By
Real Estate Agent with BarndName Real Estate

The American Dream of home ownership is still alive and well...the media is our enemy. Doing anything for ratings remember the phrase" money is the root of all evil."...so are ratings and that is what is driving us down a weeded road not the garden path so to speak. The same problem with rising oil prices are driving up the prices at the pump unregulated buying then  selling of oil futures is before the oil comes from the grounds.  Ratings are golden to the media the can make the sky rise or fall.  Remember the 80's when  a 1000 savings  banks failed it is not half that bad today we only have less than 100 .  Our family members Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are still safe from harm not failing as the media would have us to believe  and Uncle Sam will see to their survival... Under a  political party's control that is not  living in 1600 Pensylvania Avenue today the interest rates were 19% the prices of homes were driven buy assumable mortgage rates that the greedy banks have taken away... There was a slite of hand mortgage reform then ....it didn't take years in the history books for things to become unraveled again. Who is to blame for the mess we are now in again?  We as Realtors can do some thing to stop this break down or melt down...Our economy has fall apart under under great presidents as well as those who lost in the ratings game. There are many ways to fix this problem as we need to take off  our rose colored glasses.  The FSBO need our help as well as the ones who are in trouble due to greedy predatory lenders some are no longer with us but many suffer their wrath.  Foreclosures are soaring because too many are afraid to seek help.  We as Realtors can help them out...some of the properties are in the same condition now as it was sold to those who could not afford them then  as their rates, and multiple mortgages prevent them from keeping their homes.  Jobs have always come and gone.  The weather has controlled our economy before...remember the dust bowl nowwe have the floods and tornadoes....crops are washing away not blowing away.  All this effects the financial climate of our country.  We are our own future ...We have the power to make it happen...It is time to help those who really want to purchase a home archive their dream by working to completion with them rather treating them as if they are worthless.  They or most of them are still able to buy a home it is just going to require more work on our part. The quick sales are always welcome but helping those who need our guidance are jewels.  We will be remember for our actions not what we should have done.  We all feel the pain of our fellow countrymen...Now it is time for us to take charge of industry before it is beat to the ground.  We can help save homes from foreclosure by either helping sell the property or guiding the home owner to the proper resources to save their home.  They will refer you to their peer who may buy then sell.  We need to take the bull by the horns we have the upper hand.........real estate is still and always will be an excellent investment. Now go. Be the best you can be or get out.  Whiners in our industry are bad for all of us...always be be proud....never talk down about the housing industry as we can help control what is going on ..
