We hear the same thing day in, and day out.....staging is expensive, and I think I'm going to lower my price!! It is so frustrating hearing this comment from homeowners, and agents. People don't realize the psychological effect that staging has on a potential buyer. A buyer needs to visualize themselves living in that home. You want to create an environment that they feel comfortable in, and for them to say, "I can live here, I want this!".
Many times we have been called to perform a same-day makeover. We charge $300 for 2 hours of labor, and in that short time we are able to create a completely different atmosphere. That client that was very hesitate about us moving their personal items, are amazed at how beautiful their home has become! They honestly had no idea that their house could look that way! Then they comment that now they get the concept of staging.
Staging is more than de-cluttering, it is playing with the psyche of a buyer, the psyche of the homeowner. Ultimately it is the best marketing money that an agent and seller can spend on their listing. Working together as a team, staging can help you sell your listings, you just have to believe!
