Love is the Killer App
A while ago I was given a gift by Madeline Denison, a Naples Realtor with Amerivest. She sent me the book, LOVE IS THE KILLER APP by Tim Sanders, and thanked me for sharing information in my column over the last three years. Tim Sanders is very inspirational. I read his book early one morning right after Gail and I got back from our European trip. We were still jet lagged and I am just now re-reading it. I am an avid reader - and I love books that I can learn from. Someone once told me learning is one thing, but actually applying what you learn is quite another. (How many of us KNOW what to do, but just don't DO IT?) Madeline sent me this book because she felt I was already accomplishing some of what Sanders talks about and she thought I would benefit from his advice. She was correct, Sanders put many things in an interesting perspective and made me realize other things I may have been doing wrong as well as some areas I should focus on, plus additional ways to help others. In fact, Sanders believes that to be truly successful in business, you must be more willing to make your associates successful rather than to "win" for yourself. Sanders describes love in business as; "the act of intelligently and sensibly sharing your intangibles with your bizpartners." He describes "your intangibles" as your knowledge, your network and your compassion. Reading this book made me think of a man that does this very well. Ron Campbell is a real estate agent with Market America Realty and Investments, Inc. Ron is a good friend and is always willing to give of himself. Through, in great part, his generosity and willingness to help others he has become, by any man's account, a very successful man. He loves his work and has been living by Sanders credo for as long as I've known him - and I am certain he has never heard of Tim Sanders! If you have a chance, go get your own copy of Sanders' book. You can click on the link below. While you are at it, you might as well buy two copies. You will want to keep one and give one to a friend. |
