CONSERVING YOUR GASOLINE! I have actually started noticing folks driving down the interstate going 45mph with their flashers on!  At first I didn't realize what this was about, and then my husband told me to start looking around, its everywhere!

TIPS FOR CONSERVING GAS:

  • pump your gas when its cooler and not in the middle of the hot day
  •  use a gas card that gives you savings like "shell" and pay it off when you get the bill.
  • use gas that has NO ethanol, even if its a little higher priced, you will drive further on a tank of gas
  • check your tire pressure, this makes 2 or 3 miles to gallon difference
  • try not to use air conditioner ( only when necessary) I turn mine off until it gets hot then I turn it on just for a short time to cool the car down
  • use cruise control when possible
  • no drag racing in town ~ (one of my habits I've had to break)
  • FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS ~ Get folks pre-qualified FIRST!

According to recent studies and my own study of the use of Ethanol in Gas, I agree that its NOT the way of the future!  All the rave about ethanol being more economic, cleaner, and cost effective for our economy is simply not true. Think about it, how many farmers have stopped producing corn for eating and started growing corn for the production of ethanol?  The last I heard the corn grown for making ethanol is worth more per bushel than the kind we eat.  At best, we can be sure to PAY more for corn to put on our tables in the future due to a lack of production.

I did a recent test on my own,and found that I can drive further on a tank of gas not having ethanol rather than with 10 percent.  Even at a dime higher, I still came out ahead with the more expensive gas. I found a post on this subject at:
