Yesterday, I had a fabulous turtle run photo-shoot by the award winning landmark Brooklyn Public Library.  It's  located right off of Grand Army Plaza, across from Prospect Park (which houses the Brooklyn Zoo and a host of other famous attractions and monuments. The Brooklyn Public Library is also adjacent to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Since I was born and raised in Brooklyn, I love doing turtle runs in my old stomping grounds and have quite a bit of eye candy in store for you. Here is a sneak preview of two Grand Army Plaza shots for my next localism article following the Brooklyn Bridge spotlight. Enjoy!

Thank you, Ron. I am so glad you enjoyed them. Deb has inspired me to give sneak previews of what  I am cooking up for localism. My diary will also give me an opportunity to maybe show photographs that might not otherwise ever see the daylight on Active Rain. I do so love jogging with my camera. I've collected a lot of eye candy! I'm also toying with the idea of showing my AR CC family how I create some of my paintings. Writing my AR diary looks like it is going to be a lot of fun!

Hey Kathy! Yes, it is directly across the street from the entrance monuments at the gateway to Prospect Park. The Library is to the left and the Arch is directly behind where I am standing facing the entrace. I always shoot 180 or 360 degrees when I pick a subject. I'm glad I do because now I can help you remember. Here, take a peek:

Carolyn, you're not kidding about the eye candy. Wow. I should be ashamed that I've never been there. Okay, I am ashamed. I have a difficult time getting out of my own back yard but this is so magnificent. You just pushed this waaaayyyy up on my wish list.

Kathy, you're from there too? Wow. The Internet is better than the telephone when you want to reach out and touch someone!

Have a great Sunday, Ladies.

Later in the rain~Deb

Hey Kathy, I'm glad too! You are soooo going to need it with my husband hanging around! He's crazy! :-P

Hey Deb, you must let me know if you do come to NYC. Hopefully I'll be around and not visiting somewhere else. We'll have a blast! We have to run the streets at least for one afternoon. I know lots of neat little places to go and rumor has it that I am the "Queen of Free." (LOL)

Hi Cristal, jogging is quiet time for me. It helps relieve stress, clears my head and provides me with eye candy. I get to see my friends, meet new people and think about what type of paintings or sketches I may create down the road based upon what inspires me. I am an artist with a "visual addiction." Colors and textures fascinate me. I schedule different runs during different times in the day because the lighting changes the play of luminosity across physical objects.  Check out the colors in this shot for my upcoming  "Pineapple Walk" Brooklyn blog.

I don't know Don, you've got quite a bit of CC AR family in New York, so you may want to pop over one day to say hey! :-)
