I always thought that my words I wrote and the stuff I put on the web were just haphazardly stored by whoever the Internet gurus are. Well it turns out that not only are they haphazardly stored they are systematically stored on the Wayback Machine. I know you think I am milking you but it is for real. There is a machine that takes snapshots of the web and has been since 1996. There are currently over 85 billion pages stored and if you don't think you are on there, think again. If you don't believe me, take a trip to the New Library of Alexandria in Egypt and check it out. If you don't have the time, go to this link
www.archive.org/web/web.php and type in www.activerain.com and see what you get.
If you are from say, Virginia Beach, you could go back in time to 1999 and see what was going on at the beach at that time. It is some pretty neat stuff. I know some people who have quite addicted to it.
What is really neat is that if you don't want your words preserved forever, there is a procedure for opting out of the Wayback Machine but I don't think that would be much fun.
