Wind Energy: The Next American Energy Movement

Move Wind Energy Forward !

By now you have seen the Boone Pickens TV commercial explaining America's dependence on foreign oil. Nothing new about that, anyone who buys gasoline is aware of this reality.

I think also we are aware of our national governments inability to grasp the state of our failing economy, the need to move our energy policy away from oil, and the necessity to patch the whole in our national security created by our need for oil. How many times have you asked yourself "What are those people in Washington DC doing?" "Can't they see what is going on in the rest of the country?" "Where has common sense gone?"

If you as an American are tired of the federal government doing little to fix these problems then its time to start spreading the word about how we, as Americans, can come together and force change in our federal government.

It has been good to see an oil man like Pickens embrace wind. I hope we will see some other industry leaders make similar ventures in to renewable carbon free energy.

Hi Jim - I agree, we need more focus on energy efficiency for our country and the world, by other rich powerful persons, who step up to the task. There are others, rich philanthropists, working in other areas of world's needs, Bill Gates on disease and Ted Turner is working on doing away with the nuclear threat. Not to long ago I read an article about a Korean scientist who has come up with a patent that will make all electric motors function at their design level but with only 25% of the electric energy.

Hi Janeanne - it is a very informative video. Everyone should watch it and see how easy it is for this country to keep $300 billion of our energy dollars in this country. Not only would we be making an investment for the current generation but future generations as well. Also the shot in the arm to our economy would be tremendous. Thanks for getting informed!

I think that currently Texas has one of the largest wind projects in American.

Does anyone know if that is accurate?

Hi Sabrina - yes you are correct. As a matter of fact Texas recently voted to invest 5 billion into their state power grid to deliever electricity from the panhandle to its major cities. You can find out more about "Texas to Spend Billions on Wind Power Transmission Lines" here.

Brian, this is a great link for all of us who have seen the commercials but haven't done any research. BTW, I just signed up for my Eco Broker designation. How did you like the classes?
