I will be going to my twenty year high school reunion this weekend.  I am excited to catch up with old friends but I have been asking myself how I can maximize the opportunity.  Sure, passing my business cards while cathing up is the obvious answer, sending out great to see you again cards a few weeks after the reunion is another, but I want MORE!!!  I know I will have alot of fun and a blast at my reunion but please help with innovative suggestions on how to make the reunion a productive networking event...Thanks!

Just be social and be nice.  People will naturally ask what you are up to these days and if you are matter of fact about it the conversation will flow.

Is there a chance of hosting a Brunch and Learn.. what I am thinking is send out an invite to everyone and invite them to a hosted Brunch were each person gets 3 mins to "teach" about what they currently do. More then a network event more of a professional meet and greet

You would get the 3 mins to tell everyone what your perfect client 'looks like"

The insurance guy ( every class has one) would get a chance to tell everyone he can insure any where. and so on and so on

Since they usually provide name tags, I always take my own, Realtor tag. No one ever complained, they need a reminder after all those years anyway.

Do you look like yourself? As you did 20 years ago. If not....

Have cards made up with your High School picture on one side and something like, Win a Free ____ if you can guess who I am first. Call me at _____

Some sort of giveaway...

A trivia game from high school days....see if the committee will fit this in and give out a prize for the most correct answers.

Door Prize for the person who has the same profession as you or hobby.

Good ideas but does every event have to be a "networking" event?  There should be some occasions when we just enjoy the moment.  JMHO

HMMMM......Don't drink to much.  lol.

Don't talk real estate and they will ask you about it.  You know, you don't want to be "that guy" that talks all night about work.  Have a great time and be remembered for that.  Be the guy that they want to see again because you have that magnetic personality.  That way the next week they are going to be telling the people they work with that Larry turned into this great guy and he's into real estate.  And low and behold someone is going to be in the market.  Imagine, no money invested!!!

Just my two cents.  Have a great time!!

I agree with Shirely.  Everything doesn't always have to be business.  I would be turned off if someone was handing out their cards without being asked.  Just go for the fun of seeing your old friends.

I don't know if I would pass out business cards at a reunion.  Not what I would want.  Too high key.

And remember, too much alchohol can ruin the whole thing.  Just talk life.  Dont go as a Realtor looking for business but let them know what you do.   Rekindle friendships because people do business with friends.

Just be you. People will ask you what you are doing now. Don't go overboard. Solidify those relationships again and gather contact info. I had my 20 yr last year, and collected contact info. Now I will through out an informal invitation for everyone to meet and socialize one evening.

The old high school picture on a business card could be interesting...by far everyone said let it happen naturally.  Thanks so much for your comments!  I really appreciate them!  Fortunately I got rid of drinking beverages that influence poor judgement a long time ago.  No worries there.  Thanks again to all!
