round rock texas, living in round rock, round rock lifestyle, best places to live in usa, moving to texas, best texas cities to live, live in txIf you are looking into where in Texas would be a great place to live, CNNMoney.com may have given you your answer last week by publishing a list of the top 100 places in the USA to live.  Round Rock came in at number 7 due to a number of factors.  Round Rock has nearly tripled in population in 10 years; however, due to a strong tax base and city infrastructure, the growth has been managed very well.  Quality of life here is strongly supported by the city government who provides superior parks and recreation.  Texas Department of Transportation has also done a fine job of supporting the transportation growth here to manage traffic flow.  Add to that shopping, education and entertainment venues that have developed here in the past 10 years and it is easy to see how Round Rock has managed to attract so many happy residents!

I used to wonder why MONEY published these lists of "best places to live".  I mean, what's the purpose?  Are folks supposed to read these lists and then pick up an move???? That's unrealistic.

Then, one of my favorite new home sales persons did just that.  He resigned here in VA and moved to Boise Iowa where the cost of housing is much lower, the weather not bad and the folks very friendly and he now has a job selling new homes for one of the builders there and bought a beautiful home with the $500K he made selling his home in Fairfax, VA.

It works.

Steve,

They left off that moving to Round Rock means they can have you as an agent. Good to see you posting again.

That is exciting news about Round Rock. I think these poles are great for the communities involved, and highlight tangible measures of how to evaluate a city.

Congratulations.

Richard

Lenn:  It is obviously more than just one article that causes a big population shift!  ;-)  Our area has been growing for many years and for MANY reasons.  I am about to post another article on Texas being the Top State for business according to CNBC.  Couple many reports like this together and you begin to see why the state is growing in population at rates like few other states.  And it is sure nice to be in a market that is seen as one of the best in life styles and cost of living!

Michael:  Business continues to move along at a steady rate here.  The Austin area tends to be recession-proof area and for that I am thankful.  Sales are down a little bit, but investors are working heavy here at this time and that is a focus area of mine so my business continues to move along nicely!

Richard:  Thanks for noticing that I have been absent for a couple of weeks.  I have been battling some tough closings (underwriting issues for my sellers and buyers - no real surprise there, right?).  And then I was asked by an associate to work with an investor's class here in the area this past weekend and I have been snowed with that, plus I picked up tons of investor leads as a result.  By the way, I got the investor class lead from...  TADA!  Active Rain!  Hence I am back posting again!  LOL

Darin:  Thanks for your post.  Yes Round Rock is a great place to live and I was on a bus with 50 investors this weekend doing the RR evangelist thing.  People are investing and moving here in huge numbers!  And by the way, I WELCOME YOUR INVESTOR REFERRALS!  ;-)
