Google Number 1 in Visibility

The World Wide Web presence that is Google has ranked number 1 in Harris Interactive’s ninth annual survey of the 60 most visible U.S. companies. Ratings were determined by more than 20,000 online, in-depth survey participants.

The survey included six categories: social responsibility, emotional appeal, financial performance, products and services, vision and leadership, and workplace environment.

Last year’s winner was Microsoft, who settled in at 10th place this year. With Google being the leader in online visibility, doesn’t it make sense to have a highly skilled interactive marketing team working to keep you in the top results of Google and other major search engines? The necessity of search engine optimization is clearly apparent.

Here is a list of other finalists:

1. Google

2. Johnson & Johnson

3. Intel Corp

4. General Mills

5. Kraft Foods

6. Berkshire-Hathaway Inc.

7. 3M Co.

8. The Coca-Cola Co.

9. Honda Motor Co.

10. Microsoft

Wow, how sad for General Motors and Ford.  Their names are all over town and nobody cares.

Ditto the above.  How come GM & Ford have slipped below the horizon?  It's surprising.  Even Exxon isn't in the top 10.  Or Toyota.
