Feng Shui is a unique and powerful method of creating space for positive energy to flow throughout the home and your life. Practitioners often reposition or redesign the placement of furnishings in relationship to the layout or structure of the space they are working to improve.

We can do the same thing by applying Feng Shui techniques to how we "show up" or are perceived in our businesses practices and in person. By creating positive impressions that our prospects and clients will perceive as collaborative and helpful, we "unclutter" our business messages and eventually our business lives.

Feng Shui: 3 Tips To Better Impressions  About You

  1. First Impressions: Dress well and create the impression you are the expert, you are successful, and you are a well organized business person. Sloppiness in attire is like having an unkempt office, it gets in the way--being well dressed is akin to being well organized
  2. Second Impressions: Be early or on time. This simple act shows you care--showing up late show you have a cluttered calender, inefficient scheduling habits, or you don't care
  3. Last Impression: Always “Under promise and Over Deliver” If you provide more than is expected you exceed expectations and raise your value in your client’s mind--if you Over promise and Under Deliver your business will suffer from the clutter of conversations, being related at your expense by former clients, online or offline expressing dissatisfaction

Analysis

Tips 1 and 2 should be a given but surprisingly in the real estate community they are often not followed. Treat your business like a business, treat meetings like any corporate meeting. In this way you demonstrate your seriousness and commitment to your craft.

Tip 3 is the most crucial of all. Nordstrom built an empire on this mantra and so can you. Never say your are going to do something and then not have the ability to follow through on that promise

Great Information, not sure what makes that Feng Shui, but it is definitely good sound business advice.

Feng Shui as a science can affect the physical, mental, emotional and the spiritual level of an individual. If at the physical level, it relates to the changing in the placement of objects, it can help you achieve mental stability and progress emotionally. And once the emotional balance is created, one can evolve spiritually to the higher self. Experts highlighting the importance of Feng Shui also state that --Feng Shui as an art can help you progress but it can't change your destiny, unless you work hard to achieve it. Feng Shui is not just placement of articles in the house but it is also connected to your entire well-being.The Chinese exponents of Feng-Shui believe that where you live and how you allocate and arrange the elements of your home or workplace can significantly affect the harmony of your health, wealth, and happiness. Many of Feng Shui's precepts are based on sound practical sense, others seem to be merely a matter of convention, while for some people Feng Shui lies beyond any rational explanation. Dean:  I've been learning a lot about Feng Shui from another AR member (Carole Provenzale).  If you haven't seen her posts, you might take a look.  Feng Shui is quite interesting and your post makes perfect sense to me.

riathareja, Well done description! Thank you for this document--it helps quite a bit. The fact that Feng Shui is "connect to your entire well-being" is the reason Susan wrote the original article. Rational explanations are not the prerequisite in many concepts that drive our lives in my opinion. Coincidence is often a matter of believing in signs and looking for those signs. Personal growth through intention, belief, and practicing to educate yourself are the paths that will lead a person to their desired outcome. Thank you!

Hi Donna, I will have to go look at Carole's writing. I am glad you commented and gave me your feedback. It is important to understand that even if a concept, like Feng Shui, is difficult to immediately measure, it is still very often a powerful force in a person's life. Thank you!
