The movie "Evan Almighty" was filmed in Crozet Virginia, just outside of Charlottesville.

It was in a wonderful neighborhood called Old Trail at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains.

Evan Almighty

This is a photo I took of the ARC being built. It was amazing and as I showed Real Estate in Old Trail with a client, we drove by an elephant that splashed my truck with water!

I am amazed at how many movies have been filmed in our little area near Charlottesville Virginia!

I hope you got a chance to see the movie?

I thought that movie was a good adaptation to modern times.  Like Bill Cosby's old comedy version!  LOL

Charles--Funny story!! That must have been some site to see with the animals and such. I loved that movie...I don't think it did great at the box office though...I do remember there was a not so wonderful real estate agent in the movie...Eve Adams who wanted to make certain her sign showed in the SOLD photo.

Hi Charles...I haven't seen the movie but I'll look out for it on netflix.  We have a lot of film crews in our area from time to time. One Tree Hill is the steady one right now. Cool picture.

Charles, it is amazing the places that film makers decide to do movies. Thanks for sharing that piece of trivia.

Charles:  You know, I ALWAYS like the movies that don't do too well in the theatre and this was one of them!  I just loved the arc and wondered about the 'staging' of it while watching the movie!  I can't believe that you actually SAW this--HOW COOL IS THAT?!  I'll be the children loved watching all of  the animals that they used on Even Almighty!?

Charles.. this was a GREAT movie.. I have seen it like 3 times now. Bet it would have been interesting to stroll down the streets during the filming.

How funny that you mention this movie now, Charles.  My youngest is on a mission trip to GA, and their inspiration movie for this week was Evan Almighty!  He's seen it before, but they watched it as a group before leaving to put themselves all in the right frame of mind :)

See it?  It seems like it is on HBO all day long.  It is cool when things like that happen in our own little back yard!

Good morning Charles. Well if it does start to flood, y'all already have a well made boat... LOL I did not know that so many movies were made there in VA...

Yes, I liked the movie, Charles. It is cool that the arc (or its skeleton) is still there.

Charles - Thanks for sharing that shot.  There must be something special about the area.  I am sure the movies filmed locally are well attended in the local cinemas

Charles, the picture caught my attention! I was wondering what kind of homes were being built there! I didn't realize it was also a movie making place as well. I have not seen the movie yet, but if I do, which elephant should I look for?

Charles:  Our family really enjoyed this movie so much we bought it on DVD.  Steve Carell was really funny.  Mollie Shannon played the ditzy Realtor.  That would have been cool to have seen the arc.  Thanks for sharing.

Charles, I have not gotten to see it yet but I hear it's a real hoot! I'm going to make this a Top 3 thanks to your recommendation. It looks great.
