Murray, Kentucky's downtown transforms itself on the south side of the square on Saturday mornings in the summer and fall.  It becomes the site of the Saturday morning farmer's market selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, home made goods and even fish!  This 10 plus year tradition gives local folks a place to come, get some good fresh produce, visit and even let their pets intermingle.

Earleene, I love Farmers markets.  Your pictures were great!  Did you take them with your new camera?  I just found out that we have a farmers market here locally.  Up until then the only time I made it to a Farmers market was when I visited my daughter in NYC and we went to the one in Union Square.

Marchel  Yes, I used my new camera for the pictures.  It was my first day out playing with it.  Thank you for taking the time to look at them.  I just love going to the market on Saturdays and getting fresh fruit and vegetables.  I always run into people I know while there.  It's just a good laid back place to go.

Thank you for the Americana... I thought to myself "now this is what American looks like!"

Chuck - Thanks.  I enjoy going there because it is just a good feeling seeing people mingling and the farmers selling their wares all around the court square.

We have a great farmers market too, it is just too bad that it is only on Saturday morning and I often have appointments at the time it is open!

Mary,

I know what you mean.  This on is only on Saturday also.  They have opened another one that is on Tuesdays now out at our fairgrounds so that helps.

Earleene - It looks like you guys have some incredible farmer's markets during the summer time.  We have several in Humboldt County, but my favorite is the one on the Arcata Plaza - your plaza kind of looks similar to ours.  They're a great place to socialize and bump into some friends you might have not seen in a while.  Oh and veggies and fruit are always great too  :)

Hi Earleene - it's Victoria from the Berry Farm!  Your pictures are great.  We used to sell our blackberries at Murray and loved the market.  We are getting ready in the next few days to have sweet corn.  Do you know who we contact - or just show up and pay the vendor's fee?  Hope to see you :)
