Inman Connect - San Francisco - Part 1

By
Real Estate Agent with Better Properties Seattle

Well, it's almost time to leave for Inman Connect in San Francisco.  Not much left to do but pack...except...choose the mascara.  Last year I went with Triple X mascara for 3X the lashes!  But...new year...new mascara.

So what's my choice of mascara for Inman Connect San Francisco 2008?

First we ask the people who need to look as good as possible:

Then we balance that with a consumer opinion.

That's my choice for Blogger's Connect 2008, though no one will ever convince me that these ladies didn't also use fake lashes :)  I'm not going that route.  My luck the thing would fall in my eye while I'm talking into a Flip Video or while they are filming my panel presentation "How not to get Sued as a Blogger" or whatever it's called.

Ardell, you always have the important things covered.  I care deeply about this subject.  You will let us know what you think of it, right?  I am one who considers mascara to be a body part.  I am never without it.  The stuff I use now is great but too dang expensive.  My wallet and I are waiting for your review.  Does it come in waterproof?

Damn, Drew Barrymore looks great!  And I believe those are individually placed, very expensive eyelashes enhancing this look. You will look fabulous in all your fabulousness alone.

Ardell - a lady must have her priorities! Let us know what  you think of the mascara....now how about your lipstick?

Ladies,

I wish I dared to wear false lashes.  "Ardell" IS the #1 maker of false lashes, you know.  But I think trying them for the first time at 7 in the morning before a speaking engagement is not a good idea...maybe next year!

This year, it's the big fat yellow bottle of mascara!  Haven't bought it yet...it's on my to do list.

Elaine,

I never wear waterproof mascara.  Not a good idea as you get older as it can cause your lashes to fall out and at my age...they may not grow back!

I remember when I was 13 or so my friends and I decided to cut our lashes thinking they would grow longer if we trimmed them.  Not a good idea.

You always look great to me whether you have mascara on or not. Besides I don't know if I can really tell the difference.

ARDELL!  Is that where they are going???  I've always worn it because I smudge everything.  I thought is was just the age thing alone.

Sandra,

I'm a little young for "the lipstick crowd".  In my experience, those who turned makeup age in the 50s are all about the lipstick.  My generation was all about the mascara.

Women even 5 years older than I won't leave home without lipstick...for me...it's the mascara, then the eyebrows, then the spackle, then the blush, then the close...lipstick is optional, though I do like to line the lips and usually end up filling in with the lip pencil vs. actual lipstick.

I kiss a lot...so lipstick is not really a priority for kissers, nor is lip gloss...except for maybe cherry Chapstic or colored beeswax.

Elaine,

I'm bringing Q-Tips in my purse for smudge issues.  Yes...that's where your lashes are going!

Kim,

I'll have to do one eye with and one without...and you may have to get your reading glasses to give me the final read on the new mascara.

Ardell, this is most definitely the biggest concern anyone should have before heading to a major real estate conference.  Thanks for lightening up the day.  Just got to San Francisco today -- be prepared for some chilly weather.

I tested the new mascara by putting it on before bed and sleeping in it.  Very little smudging this morning!  Maybe it is waterproof...hmmm.

ARDELL, Love it! Ok, you are right our generation is all about the mascara and it is really weird how as we age we have to switch brands! I had really long think lashes - now not so think and so have tried tons of new mascaras. Will have to try this one. I know all those models have fakes on! I tried doing the individuals once before a Military Ball - and well not the time to try. We will all practice in 2009 with false lashes - I am going with the full ones this time! I don't wear waterproof either. Have fun!

Just got back from all of the first night parties...Had a blast and it really is great to see everyone in the same place.  Tomorrow sessions all day, I don't speak until 11:30 or so, then Trulia Party and after that the Active Rain Party.  Another jam packed day and night tomorrow.  Need to get some beauty sleep :)

I fell in love with BADgal Lash by Benfit. Oh and the trademark DIOR DiorShow mascara, but i have uber-sensitive eyes, so I end up paying $$ for the stuff.

As a footnote, please keep Mr. Stewart in line for me. :)  You know how he gets sometimes! :D Have fun! Miss you!
