It's Monday but in our business it is actually Tuesday.  I had two open houses yesterday and it was hot!  First house had air conditioning but the seller prefers not to use it.  Don't you realize it is hot!  We are in the Mississippi River Valley in Wisconsin and it get darn muggy.  You can break out in a sweat just minding your own business.  Another mayfly hatch and goodness knows that it is one of mother nature's biggest mistakes.  There is no reason for these critters except to breed and then die......all in a 24 hour period!  What a life.  I hear mayflies are great bat food. Oh! Wonderful.  I was wondering where I could get some free Bat Chow for my little babies................come on.  There has got to be another purpose for these smelly, annoying insects.  WHAT IS IT???????  SOMEBODY, please tell me.

My second open house was on he Mississippi Main channel.  Really, my husband had it open for me.  He is a commercial real estate broker............CCIM.  Smart guy, and I thought it was very nice of him to help me out.  These types tend to be 'bottomline' guys but hey, who am I to complain.  5 hours total he was there...............  People came in droves, in cars, in boats, on foot.  I think he thought he was hosting a party on the deck.  I know he was feeling at home when he broke out the lawn mower and mowed the yard.  Talk about service.  Yup, he finally left when I locked the door and took down the open house signs.  I think he had a great time.  What can he have open next week, I wonder.  I have a little house that needs to be painted!

We are busy, the buyers are plenty but, they are slow.  Like someone added slow pills to their morning supplements.  They are feeling the power, power they didn't have in 2005/2006.  Now they can shop and those sellers, well, its about time they got a taste of what it is to want ...........revenge and AAA credit in their holster they are out there, teasing and testing.

Sellers too are plenty.  Some get it, some don't.  A big part of my job is education about the market and to smile the entire time.  They are lost sheep looking for Bo Peep to lead them out of  the woods and to protect them from those big  bad buyers with the low ball offers.

I love this business.  It's the best job I ever had.  if it were easy everyone would be doing it and several years ago that WAS the case.  It is just us now, the survivors, the tenacious, battle hardened warriors. If we 'git 'er done', America will get back on her feet and although no one will recognize us, we will know.  And that is all that matters.
