So, really real estate was my solution to having a career with a family. My plan was: I would put in evenings and weekends at the office, come home, fix dinner, put the babe to sleep, do some more work from home. I would put the babe in daycare at 2 months and really get going!! I would be super mom, have a fit "MILF" bod, perfectly washed and detailed car, no random crumbs, toys et al in the seats. I would have perfect eye brows, a thriving business, and an adorable child.
AT 9 months pregnant, I was on fire- 3 escrows pending and I gave birth. Suddenly, reality chimed in and reminded me that sleep is key to doing all. A new mom, I was reduced to tears, trying to juggle the screams of my newborn and the jingle of my TREO. I had to ask for back-up. My good friend, Linda Perry(chime: angel music ahhhhhh) pitched in and took care of business. Life eventually got back to normal...today when I took my babe to her first solo daycare session. She's ONE. So much for the 2 month hiatus (but she's awesome, so there).
So, a bit off the path (although the car was detailed after I spilled a whole latte on the carpet last week and tried--unsuccessfully--to preempt any cows gone wild smell in the car), but getting the focus back. I am excited to be doing more than just surviving, and look forward to networking outside the mom's group (but don't knock it- moms are dabomb).
So here I am and that's it for now; mama's gotta sleep!
Next time: New mom makes a movie...
Kat,
You may even get a sale or two out of that mom's group by networking! I told my hubby we need to have some kids for the connections! haha jk
