I don't like to complain but.....I've allowed this Blackberry to make me to feel like I am the Barney Rubble of Technology.  So far, it's ok, but the verdict is still out and I have 7 days left Blackberry Curveto return my Blackberry Curve.7 Days Left

It's taken me a while to figure it out my new phone. I never was given any directions as to how to get started and an incorrect internet website was provided. After fumbling around for a couple of days, I borrowed a disc to download.

For the most part, my Blackberry has all of the features that I need.  It's got email, internet and all of that good stuff.  I have the capability of linking my outlook to my blackberry.  Tonight I am downloading all of my contacts from outlook.

Blackberry Curve

This is my second Blackberry!  People could not hear me clearly with my first one.  I think that the sound quality of my replacement phone is still bad.  If I decide to keep the phone, I guess I will have to continuously take it back until Verizon gets it right.

I don't know if I like my Blackberry Curve.  What about you - did you experience similar problems with your Blackberry?

It's all about people, being honest, having integrity and product knowledge.

Hi Leolinda, I have toyed with the idea of giving mine back the first 30 days as well.  It's now
double work for me to check my e-mails on my blackberry, my laptop and e-mails go to my
outlook.  I am overwhelmed receiving up to 300 e-mails a day sometimes 500.  My Blackberry
beeps everytime an e-mail arrives, therefore, it beeps all day long.  I really never use the
internet, even though I have it.  I have many other features with mine but I use it mostly as
a phone and sometimes to glance how many e-mails I have.  I guess like anything else. it's
getting used to it.  Technology can be great but also time consuming.  Good luck with your
decision.  Dagmar Sands

I had trouble with a Pocket PC, the cell phone company replaced it 3 times and finally gave me a completely different phone!

These phone-based computers have a high learning curve (no pun intended Leolinda). I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, but my new windows mobile smartphone has provided more than enough frustration as I've gotten used to it over the last couple weeks. My biggest complaint is that the phone features are hampered by issues we take for granted on our notebook or desktop computers. We're all used to periodic slowdowns or crashes, but when it happens on a phone it seems more intrusive.

All in all I like being able to check mail on my phone, and I can tether to my notebook for use as a wireless modem. The best part is not having to carry a separate ekey for our local MLS lockbox system. But several other agents in my office had similar phones for a short time and gave up. I wish you best of luck with yours.

I've tried 2 blackberry type devices - blackberry pearl and samsung blackjack and returned them both.  My biggest problem with them...I have big hands and just dialing a phone number was a challenge!

My wife has an iphone which I think is great and I have no problem with the on screen keyboard...however I didn't think it would be as useful in our (Realtors) pc based world.  My current solution is a normal cell phone for calls and a palm tx for everything else.  I'm very happy with the combination and it solves the other issue I also had with the blackberries, which was being on the phone with someone and trying to enter contact and calendar info at the same time.

Bobby, Yes, it does have a high learning curve.  I receive and send emails with no problem.  Unfortunately at this time it cannot be used for MLS lockbox access therefore I carry both a Palm and Blackberry.

Damon, My problem is not the little keys but the tiny alphabets.  I don't like the arrangement of the alphabets since it does not correlate with a keyboard.  I was happy with my Palm and old phone too!

Dagmar, You will read either about my new phone or read about my Blackberry over the next two years.

That's why people love the iPhone.  There IS no learning curve.  It doesn't even come with a manual.  And in ten minutes, you can learn to use almost every function.  Because it just makes sense.

Leolinda I don't have a Blackberry, but I need an upgrade and was thinking about purchasing one. I haven't heard too many pluses for buying one. I may just have to stick with my Treo because it syncs with my ACT! database.

07/22/2008 11:53 AM by Michael Setunsky (Michael's Commercial LLC)

Fred and Michael, I am considering changing to either an iPhone or Treo.  Have you each had good reception?  Is it relatively easy to learn?

07/22/2008 01:58 PM by Leolinda Bowers, MBA, CRS, Top 2% Ken Meade Realty Sun City Grand Real Estate (Ken Meade Realty)

Leolinda, I am on Verizon and the reception is excellent in our area. I can't speak to the iPhone because I am not familiar with it. The Treo has a small learning curve and I had to work a little with it to get it to sync with ACT! I also have a real estate calculator on it so everything is combined in one device. I also have a program called Treo Voice Dialing. I can voice dial anyone in my database by name or telephone number. I have the first Treo that came out so the new ones may be easier to use and have more functionality.

Michael: The Verizon reception in most areas of my home is pretty bad.   Most of my friends who have the Treo loves it.

The more  you use it the easier it becomes.  Read up on your blackberry book when you have time. I also go online to ask and get questions answered.

ChristinaThe more I practice the better acquainted I become.  The online information is also helpful  I believe part of my frustration is that I just don't have the time.

Leolinda,

The Barney Rubble of technology?  You made me laugh with this one.  I just got my first blackberry in May.  Had a Palm before that, and I love the BB.  I'm way behind you on the technology part, though.  Does that make me the Dinosaur of technology?

Mike in Tucson

Thanks for your call this afternoon; I hope I was helpful.

LeoLinda,

Blackberry use has become so popular in our area with Realtors that our local board has decided to put on a training session to show us all of the features, shortcuts and really neat things that can help us in our day to day activities.  Isn't that a great idea?

Mike, Perhaps I should have said that I am a Betty Rubble of Wilma Flintstone...In either case I will pick your brain again about your Blackberry when we see each other next.

I figures out how to adjust the ring tones today.  Good talking with you too!

Leolinda I have a Pocket PC and I am tired of it locking up.  Verizon has been great about sending me a new one but they are always reconditioned and worse than the last one.  I have only heard good things about the Blackberry Curve and thought I would buy one when I am aboe to replace mine.  I will have to watch to see all of the comments
