H2 Go Economizer This is a partially bulit cannister that we built this weekend to install on our 2000 Ford Explorer.

What we have done is to create hydrogen gas through this container and pump it to our intake exhaust system of our SUV.

The test results from just one day is quite impressive by our standards.

Please read more if you would like to follow and see how our customization helps supplement our gas consumption.

16 Comments on HHO Browns Gas for our SUV

Jay, I'm confused ( no surprise there ! )  Your post seems to indicate that you and your buddy         " built " this thing over the weekend.  The pic ( painted and graphics ) make it look commercially available.  Is this anything like the report I saw where they were exposing a gas saving scam ?  Not saying you are involved but wondering how is yours different ?  Details ?

I have been studying this type of modification, too.  You may need to add a sensor so the computer doesn't adjust your fuel flow and kill your savings.

Hi Bill, I photo shopped the graphic in. I am sure there are a lot of scams out there. My mileage has improved and today I drove the SUV 16.2 miles and I have now used 4.4 gallons for a total of 86.2 miles. Bill I am not sure what scam you are referring to.

What our system does is we produce a small amount of hydrogen gas to supplement the gasoline. It is supposed to add power and help clean the pistons and engine making the vehicle run more efficient.

 Time will tell.

Heath, I'll mention it to Brad as we do not have a sensor. I think the computer is adjusting to the system as we go along. I think that is why he said 30 days is a good indicator as to how this will work.

Jay, from inventions to keep your camera still when filming to saving on gas...you are so creative! What a wonderful invention. Now..you'll just have to come to Texas to put one on our car! I won't let your twin anywhere near my car! (BTW..I stopped by your golf blog and it looks great!)

Jay I have heard of other devices like this, but have been reluctant to put them in my cars.  I guess I would like to know how your car is performing after a couple of months in order for me to feel more comfortable about this.

Linda,

My buddy Brad is the creative one. I guess I am just the guinee pig. So far so good. I'll keep you posted as we progress.

George, I don't blame you I was a little skeptical too but so far so good. What kind of car do you drive?

I might put one in my motor home as it works with Diesel too.

Jay - your initial results are pretty cool, and I bet the 30 day results will be equally interesting.  What do you have to do to maintain the hydrogen thing - do you add something to it each time you fill up?

If you need a coastal guinea pig.....  ;-)

I heard you twitter on this but couldn't follow the thread, Thanks for sharing, I look forward to hearing updates on what improves. Of course we all need relief, the News has been reporting that gas has dropped. Big deal, I'm not gonna be happy until it is back to 2001 prices.

Jay - It sounds really interesting. Anything to get better gas milage these day would be a big help.

Does riding around with a hydrogen container make you feel a little uncomfortable?  I get a little sick carrying the gas container for the grill to the store to get a new one!

Ann, I may have saved a gallon of fuel already based on the SUV's computer reading. I just passed 140 miles and it read I had used 7.2 gallons. But, my guage looks more closer to half than 3/4's. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I did travel up and down 495 today and it still reads 19.5 mpg.

Missy, I wish they were back to 1970 prices. LOL

Bill, My friend says it shouldn't have any negative effect on the engine. We'll soon find out I guess.

Eleanor, It is not much more dangerous than the 18 gallons of gas I drive around in.

Keep us posted Jay! I wil line up and buy one from you when you are ready to go...the simplicity of it is wild and I am sure it wouldn't take long to pay for itself. In real estate we "drive to survive" so this would be a huge economic help.

Will do Sean, I have not gone below 19.5 mpg yet in the SUV. Monika says she remembers a lot of 16.5 and 17 mpg while driving around. I did do some hwy driving yesterday and it did not fluctuate all that much but I did some in town and it stayed the same. Keeeping my fingers crossed.

Interesting Jay.  I never heard of such a thing.  I will check back for your updates.

Thanks Dave,

I just filled up again and I pumped in 18.519 gallons and drove 329.4 miles which = 17.8 miles per gallon. My SUV's computer read I had used 17.3 gallons used = 19.04 miles per gallon and a lot of this was local around town miles. Also my check engine light came on and I wonder if my O2 sensor has crapped out. I'll keep you posted.
