Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, less than a half mile from Downtown Southport, Harbor Oaks offers its residents quiet tree-lined streets, neo-traditional Southern architecture, and relaxed coastal living.
Whenever I drive into Harbor Oaks, I get a real sense of balance that has to do with the right combination of a unique natural setting and homes with authentic roots to coastal Carolina. Many elements come together here with a result that is pleasing to eye and nurturing to the spirit.
A well-established neighborhood with just under 100 home sites, Harbor Oaks is well-located a half mile from downtown Southport and a mile from the ferry to Ft. Fisher and Carolina Beach. It is home to families, retirees, and all ages in between. Sometimes a developer will use amenities to help sell a community. This one sells itself and has grown gracefully into one of Southport's lovliest neighborhoods.
One unique feature I love is that the homes centered around the parks have the garage in the rear, accessed by a private alley. It makes for a clean and inviting streetscape. To date, there are nine homes on the market from the mid 400s to upper 700s. As far as lots, a dozen are available, ranging in price from 120k-300K. This is the best selection I've seen in some time so if you've been thinking of buying in Southport, and this appeals to you, it's surely worth a look.
