Attention Active Military and Veterans:

The Veterans Administration has made it very easy for our few, proud and brave to purchase a home. In this post I want to share and highlight all the benefits of using the VA loan to purchase a property.

When it comes to home ownership there are a lot of mortgage programs out there.

  • There are VA, FHA and Conventional Mortgage loans. Some lenders may have even shared or talked you out of the VA loan and told you to finance another way. I firmly believe that for the majority of veterans the VA Mortgage loan is the best and most economical way to finance a home. Here are some highlights of the VA Mortgage Loan. (read more

Bo- Thanks for the suggestion.  Kathy and I are good friends and we both go after this same market.  Since I do not have an outside blog from AR, she asked for me to write as a contributor on hers.

Gary - I agree that VA loans are the way to go for most Veterans.  Fantastic way and benefit for folks who serve our Country to get into a home.  And nice job doing the 'guest contributor' gig:-)

We were actually steered away from a VA loan several years ago, but have since learned that they are the way to go for veterans.  Great info!

Jason- Thanks for the comment, my first guest contributor.  I guess I am moving up in the world.

Jim & Maria- Thanks for the comment.  I think a lot of people were steered away from good solid loan programs.

Gary- I am sitting here thinking of a jingle from one of the sitcoms..."Moving on up"  and just smiling with the tune :) :)  Again as Jason said thanks for doing the " guest contributor gig" ....it's nice to have a lender add that extra value.  I know of a someone  that wanted a VA loan, and the lender also steered them away saying they couldn't get the certificate of eligibility in time....instead they still took 60 days to do a 30 day loan........

As I said, I am a Veteran that has never used my eligibility, and I recently did a bunch of research....you guys (Jason, you, and anyone else that does these loans) could help us out a lot by giving us the basics.,...and help dispel myths like you did in your Post.  That No Money Down...or the $1 Down is hard to overcome.
