Should My Clients Move To Your Area?

By
Real Estate Agent with Reliant Realty, Murfreesboro

I have some wonderful clients who have just sold their home.  They are going into temporary housing until they can decide what to do with the rest of their lives!  What a great position to be in!  They are retiring and can relocate anywhere in the country.  They are thinking of moving to Birmingham, AL, Houston and Austin, TX, but are also interested in researching other areas.  Today she asked me about Virginia or the Carolinas.  They really are completely up in the air about where to go.   So, if you live in a growing area with great shopping, dining, and other activities, please let me know!  This country is so big and I'm sure there are lots of wonderful towns and communities that I am not aware of.

Let me know what makes your city a great place to retire to and also what your housing market is like at the moment.

Hello  Sherri:

I extend a warm welcome to your clients to come to Anderson, SC. Anderson is located about 2 hours north east of Atlanta, GA on I-85 and about 2 hours southwest of Charlotte, NC. We are about four hours from the coast, Myrtle Beach and about 3 hours from the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Ashville, NC. However, we have been able to keep that small town appeal.

We have plenty of resturants for those who like to eat out. The meat and three places are very popular here.

Our housing market is fantastic! We have something for everyone. We have patio homes for those who don't want a large yard to maintain. We have large estates for those who like and can afford the best. We have water front property on Lake Hartwell.

We have great medical facilities with Anmed. Our cost of living is low. To learn more, go to http://www.andersonscchamber.com/.

Listening to your Needs
New Orleans would be a culture shock to most. There are few dull moments here. its very diverse and is mosre suited to the artistic person or someone who lives to fish.

North Georgia is one of the fastest growing areas in the country, and many retirees now call the Blue Ridge Mountains home.

Do some research on cities such as Jasper, Ellijay, Talking Rock and Blue Ridge GA for your clients and if they see something that peaks their interest.

I would also recommend Murphy, NC which is just across the state line from Blue Ridge.

Hope this helps!

Buying or Selling? Ann & Jim are the local experts

Why in the world would anyone want to move away from Tennessee.

We've got it great here, lots of things to do on both ends of the state as well as in the middle, 4 distinct seasons of the year, no hurricanes, no earthquakes, no volcanoes, in fact about the only thing we have that comes close to qualifying as a 'natural disaster' is when TVA draws down the lake levels after Labor Day.

Sell them another house in Mufresboro or Franklin; they don't need to move away.

Sherri, before my wife and I moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in '04, we lived in Austin, Texas.  I absolutely LOVE this city and would have never left if it had not been that I missed my family so much in Iowa.  Austin is nestled in the Hill Country, the most beautiful part of Texas.  The climate is okay, a little steamy in the summer, but the winters are awesome.  You could literally eat in a new restaurant everyday for the rest of your life there and never eat at them all.  Shopping is unique and plenty.  I just can't say enough about this wonderful gem in the south.  Go to www.austin360.com for more info on the capital city in Texas!

The more affluent always have the biggest problem with this decision.  If a person retires from a menial job and has lived in a place all of his life, that's where they stay.  People that have relocated a few times know that there are plenty of choices.  Rather than take a poll, send them to the local Barnes and Noble or other quality book store.  They need to reading and researching and not taking polls.  They need to base their decision on their own lifestyle and interests.  It is different for everyone.  Lastly, I have advised friends before to rent in a place for a minimum of six months.  We have a second home in Santa Fe.  I love that place and it really agrees with me.  I do know that it is certainly not for everyone.

No ,I don't know any movie atars, and I don't surf everyday.  I've given up saying "dude" and I'm 3o inutes from a major highway.  That being said, Oakdale, CA and surrounding it a quiet country town of about 25,000 surrounded by lakes, rivers, and mountains. We are exactly 90 minutes from snowskiing, the pacifce ocean, San Francisco, and Sacramento.

we are also home to 1 of the 2 Hershey's chocolate factories in the world, so if the wind blows right the town will faintly smell like chocolate.  We have country roots and a laidback attitude.  If they can see spendng the money to live in CA (I know its not the cheapest choice) point them this way.
