to the Newbies group, and the worl win bloging, learning, and networking community of Active Rain. I'll tell ya, you are going to meet some very fine and helpful folk's in this here AR community.
There are some really fine Texas group's to also join in the community. We have alot of fun in them.

As far as the points work, you can make up to 10 comment's a day and get 25 points for each comment of 10 words or more.
You can write and post up to 10 blog post's a week and get 200 point's for each, as long as they have 50 words or more.
The best way to start is to join a few group's in the comment. Read and comment on some post's. Be sure to read the group guidlines before posting in them. You'll fine the guidlines on the lift hand side of the group page. One of the really main things to remember is to have fun.

I think Dale hits on some good points in terms of blogging and reading in groups that overlap with your areas of interest whether that be property types or geographic areas. If you have questions on how to post and create blogs, the Help/Faq link at the bottom of the page will take you some great resources for learning the ins and outs.
