In little ole St. Francisville Louisiana home of the Myrtles plantation. Rated as one of the most haunted in the country. This coming weekend there will be a program on hummingbird banding and garden tours. I have been through this area many times. This is a lovely place to visit. Only about two and a half hours from Slidell LA. Take your family or just your significant other and spend some time up there. You won't regret it.
I love hummingbirds...we have a feeder out back that gets a lot of hummingbirds the past few weeks.
John, I don't know much about birds other than a little about ducks. It does sound nice for a short trip.
I love hummingbirds and am continually fascinated by these amazing creatures. Some people would even say that I'm a little obsessed by them because I have not one but two sites that deal with hummingbirds. The links are listed below. I hope anyone who enjoys hummingbirds will visit often and enjoy what you find there. Happy hummingbird watching everyone!

We have lots of hummingbirds here... to encourage their visits it's nice to plant the flowers they love. It works better than the sugar-water which makes them a bit hyper.
We have hummingbirds that fly around our bottle brush bushes, they are so fun to watch, the hummingbirds, that is!
