It's obvious we have an energy crisis. And whether you're a Democrat or Republican , NRA, Catholic, Baptist, or Ultra Environmentalist we have now reached the point that the oil thing is impacting our lives and careers. I mean let's face it! Who wants to drive clients around all over God's creation when gas is 4.50 a gallon! Boy we really are qualifying them now right? Bear with me it's a long post.
Let's discuss ANWAR. This is the picture the main stream media wants you to see about the farthest eastern point of Alaska's vast wilderness:
Incredible right? Who could possibly want to drive out the polar bear and the indigenous Alaskans who live in the vast wilderness much like our frontier fathers. OH how we love the romanticism of the idea of this beauteous place! There's only one problem. This AIN"T the ANWAR we're trying to dig in.....

So let's talk figures and how much that can help you not break your wallet and get your business done:
According to the United States Geological Surveyors the ANWAR region that we want to drill in has an estimated 90 BILLION barrels of recoverable oil and 1,670 cubic feet of natural gas. The ARCTIC (in this CASE IN ANWAR IN ALASKA .....WHICH WE OWN!!!!) account's for 13% of the WORLD"S undiscovered gas and oil. And check this out: The indigenous Alaskans WANT us to drill!!!!
Well let's see, THAT would cut gas prices, energy prices, make your pocket lighter. But let's go further. Let's EXPAND ON ALL new energy resources, green, blue, nuclear, solar, wind ALL of them. There's a bill being proposed by Louisana's governor AS WE READ, that gives Congress authority to go forward to find new energies in ALL forms. Biggest problem: Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi won't even let the bill come to the floor to VOTE on! Gee isn't this why we put our congressmen there, to vote for issues that represent OUR needs instead of the political flavor of the day. Why would they block something like this? Let's get this bill which is call the ALL OF IT bill to the floor and let the people have their say. They're ALL up for reelection soon so maybe that's a hint guys!
If you want to be a better REALTOR, you of course have to do well by your clients. But you also have a responsibility to be involved at more than just your church level. If we dont' do something regarding our dependence on foreign oil and start holding our politicians responsible to vote for US and not their own gains then we may soon be living in the Socialistic States of America. Be careful folks and let's get motivated to CONTACT our congressmen to get this bill passed so we can get on with the business of Real Estate!
