Google Results

I had a blog post the other day that was about St. Louis Foreclosures.

I was excited that within a day it was on page 1 of the google search results for "St. Louis Foreclosures"

however, today, a few days later, it is nowhere to be found on Google?

Anyone have any ideas or experience with this?

It's all about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to get listed at the top of Google. One thing about Google is that they like fresh content. Your blog may have been the most relevant information for that subject at the time but Google looks at many factors including how many good quality links go to that web site, does it have updated content, and what type of links are included in the web page. There's a lot that goes into it and you'll find that without a targeted effort that grows your google rank organically, you will see fleeting results.

thanks, but my post was published on ActiveRain on Tuesday and it showed up on google page 1 right away on Wednesday. now today, Thursday, its completely gone.

I understand the SEO part, but not why it would be on page 1 and then disappear...

Using the following search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22St.+Louis+Foreclosures%22 I find you at number 10 on localism. I also find www.RehabAHouse.com at #11 so if that you're site, you're doing some SEO and I just helped give you a link!

As for your link in Google changing, if it was your blog and not the localism post, it may have been something that ActiveRain changed.
