This might be an unusual way to enter Active Rain, but since I strictly do flat fee listings I was curious to see what kind of response I will get. Flat fee seems to be a controversial topic as of lately. I have read material of Realtors and Boards who despise the flat fee concept and at the same time I have discovered many brokers in Utah and nationwide who are changing to offering flat fee listings- not to mention the Federal Trade Commission's view. I must say, that since I have started flat fee listings I have found alot of satisfaction with happy clients and a boost in business.

I am open to your viewpoints and hope to gain new ideas.

Welcome to Active Rain!  I hope you enjoy this website, as I know I have.  As for flat fee listings, I am rather indeferent.

I have no problem with flat fee but i hate  "discounters who try to pass themselves off as full service when they are not.  As long as you provide good service for your fee then have it.  Good luck and welcome to AR!

Whatever works for you is your business.  I do not hate you, and I'm sure most of the rainers here will feel the same.

Welcome and as you'll find out soon enough, this is very very very very very addicting!

I, too, welcome you to AR.  But as for flat fee listings, it seems you've already made the commitment so it really doesn't matter what the rest of us think, does it?  Hope you enjoy the AR community and that everything goes well with your business.  Oh, just to let you know my opinion, since all commissions are negotiable, every agent has the right to negotiate the fees for their services, including a flat fee.  That's between them and their client.

Scott,

Welcome to Active Rain.  You'll find this is a great site to promote your successes, and network within the community.    In Washington, the feeling about this topic is pretty negative.  I try to stay out of that, and concentrate on FHA & VA home loans.  Best of luck in all your ventures.  I look forward to seeing future blogs from you!

Hi Scott...... Welcome to AR! It seems like the flat fee idea is pretty popular in UT. I'd never do it in my market area, but whatever works for you & your business. All the best!
