My older cat, Goldie has been with me for about 11 years now.  She is a little spoiled and if she whines (meows) too much, I just look at her and say "no whining" everytime until she stops.  It is funny that she seems to know what I mean.

Shadow, was a baby kitty I rescued about 4 1/2 years ago.  She was so courious and always by my side or in the window looking out at the world.  She was a huge cat with a gray/light gold tortious shell color patern.  She died a few months ago when my vet missed an obstruction.  It was too late when I took her to the Animan ER clinic after giving up on the regular vet.

My granddogger, Poco, is now with me and has been for about a month.  We have adopted each other and I think she and Goldie are good company for each other.  One morning I heard a sharp bark and Goldie came running down the hall.  I think she must have been nosing around Poco who did not like it and barked at her.  Poco has lost one eye to Glucoma and I am afraid she may lose the other eye too.  Glucoma causes a fluid build up in the eye and according to the (new) vet, it is very painful.  We're treating her with drops in her eyes for now to see if it will help.  If not, removing the eye would be better than letting her be in pain all the time.  She is almost blind now, and does pretty good by following my voice and her routine of getting to know her way around my house.

Some photos of the cats below, I will take a photo of Poco & post soon.

Sheila, Thanks for sharing the photos of your cats.  My daughter adopted a tuxedo cat a couple of months ago and already has it spoiled.

Sheila,  I have one very spoiled, bi-polar & gender conflicted cat named scat and a new puppy named JJ.  JJ would love to play with Scat and he seems to be making progress in that she will now look at him for a second before she hisses and runs off!JJscat

Sheila - I love the little babies!  Goldie is very pretty and I am so sorry to hear about Shadow - she had a gorgeous coat.  I will have to get some more pics up of my brood - a retarded Golden Retriever (not really) named Tug, my faithful and constant companion Scout who is Shepard/Husky (13 yrs old - my BABY!) and the fattest cat on the planet, Kitch.  Kitch is enormous.  Come to find out, she has a condition that she fills up with fluids - we have had her to the vet many times to alleviate the problem and there is nothing they can do for her.  She manages and still keeps a very unique personality through it all.

Goldie and Shadow are good looking kitties.  I love cats (and most animals) a lot, but my frustration with most cats is a bad allergic reaction.  I would love to have one as a pet (dogs in a highrise are quite difficult logistically) but I fear that having one here may turn me into a compulsive hand washer!
