Texas compliance for IABS

By
Real Estate Agent with Sky Realty South Austin

I am reminded daily about our obligation to buyers and sellers to provide the Information About Brokerage Service here in Texas.  The legal parties of TREC state we need to provide this at our first conversation about real estate to a potential client.

Many of us use email, web blogs, and websites for our first substantial conversation, I found a good link that will provide the IABS... its easy to copy and paste on your website, webblog or in your email signature.

Please take it and include it with your technogoly based business.

Gail, That's a great idea.  Have you started using it on your website or in your email signature yet?  I guess the only problem is getting the signature that way; but it would be presented.

HI Marchel... thanks for stopping in....

I just put this tagline on my email signature today.  The next step would be asking the potential client to sign it and fax or email it back.. I was told the fact that I have sent it and asked for it to be signed is the important step for TREC compliance.  Email leaves a great trail.  :)

Hi Gail... this is a very interesting idea.  I will have to think about this and figure out what the best way to implement it is, but it certainly sets a good foundation for presenting a buyers represenatation agreement early in the process!  As always, thanks for the yummy food for thought!

HI Steve, thanks for stopping by with your thoughts, I was really happy to have it and add it to my email... When buyers realize they are unrepresented without a buyers agreement it makes the use of such an agreement much more important to them.

Hi Gail... OK, so I decided after reading this last week to add it to my e-mail.  So far 2 people have noticed and commented.  It opens up a whole discussion topic with them.  Thanks... I think I'll keep it around! :)
