15 Comments on I may not be at Connect, but I have American candy!
Gia and Grant are the coolest! I have spoken to them numerous times and post tons of stuff on RealSeekr. Im quite jealous that they are at Connect and Im not there hanging with them...lol
Poppy, great video. Your voice sounds exactly like I would have imagined it. we used to own a candy store in NY and would sometimes order candy from England.
btw, where you goin in september? Montenegro? I'm from Montenegro, I hear a lot of Brits are investing there. get some investors, lets go and find them some properties. I own land as well many of my friends own land there.
Clint - We'll ALL hang out at the next one ;-)
Peter - OMG I love Kinder Bueno more than I love shoes and handbags, they rock. I'm going to Tel Aviv in September, I would kill to go to Montenegro though. And you're right, Brits are investing there, it's so beautiful :-)
That works for me, Poppy. Its a date..
Poppy, maybe you can go to Montenegro too. did you see this post?

Poppy, great video. You don't have Apple Jacks. What is wrong with you guys??
I think you would be great in TV commercials. Very positive.
Poppy ~ I'm very concerned that you don't seem to have much food in your country, if everyone is sending you some! ; ) I have a little something I've been saving for a special occasion, but I can't send it until Christmas time - fruitcake! It's a great American delicacy, very rare, and apparently something you pass off gift to others.
I read your post earlier but something was wrong with the sound. I am glad you got the American treats! There is a lot to love about London, however. If you have any special requests I am up for it!
Mel, what an excellent idea. Poppy, do post your shopping wish list and we'll stock your kitchen stash with some yummies for your tummy! ;-)
Peter - That's a great post, I'll go comment over there ;-)
Gary - Tell me about it! It's an absolute travesty. I just had a bowl for breakfast and now I'm all happy and American :-D
Kathy - Hehe, we do have plenty of food here...just not the good stuff ;-) I always gift panettone at Xmas, mmmmm.
Melody - I do love London really, I'm going on a picnic later so maybe I'll take some new photos...and include the food lol!
Carolyn - This could get very dangerous, I'd be the size of a house by Xmas! Whenever my man suggests moving to NY I always says but what about the cheesecake?! I'd be eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I'm very greedy :-)
Ah... You move to NY, you must let me introduce you to JRs. We're talking the best cheesecake in Brooklyn! We also have a spot in the Bronx that is to die for (and its a FACTORY that does nothing but -- yummy!). Never fear getting fat, my minions will keep you running in circles. (LOL)
Love the accent, you know how easy it is to forget how other countries are not always accustomed to the things we are used to here. Thanks for the Vid, you should keep making more ^_^
Carolyn - A factory pumping out cheesecake...I like that kinda production line! LOL
Justin - Thanks, I plan to :-)
Poppy, I have lived over here for 23 yrs and I have to say I search frantically for English Chocolate and other goodies. When I first moved here it was tough to find anything but now there is a lot about for a price, gotta say have not been a big fan of the American candy though.....but as for other incredibly fattening offerings I am addicted, especially those cake mixes, I take loads over to my Mum each year when I visit plus other goodies like BBQ sauce...I am in the South so we have a good selection of the old brown sticky stuff.
Love reading your blog though as it makes me feel a little closer to home....keep it up..and I loved the video.
Alison - I know I'd definitely miss Cadbury Twirls! I can't wait to try the cake mixes, I was going to do so this past weekend but my sister is begging me to wait until she's in London, everyone wants to try the special American cakes! :-D
So pleased you like the blog too.
