The Greenville County School district will begin to check volunteers against the Sex Offenders Registry, starting in July.  While most volunteers are parents or someone with a relationship to the particular school, the mobility of our society provides loopholes for people that are not good for our kids.  The sex offenders registry is the first step in checking volunteers; a full criminal background check is the ultimate goal, but funding is not available at this time.
