Unique Marketing Contest - Summer Edition!

Have We Got A Contest For YOU!

I've been talking alot about marketing by giving you suggestions for unique marketing ideas think outside the box! . Many others in the Rain have also been talking about marketing in general - getting yourself all geared up for end of Summer sales by planning your marketing now. So, what better time than now to hold another contest that will help you get those creative juices flowing?

Get your thinking caps on, ladies and gentlemen, because we've got a contest that will not only get you in the right fame of mind for thinking outside the box about marketing your business, but it will give you an opportunity to win some terrific prizes and (hold your breath for this one!) POINTS!!

The Contest

Give us the most creative marketing idea that can be implemented by an agent, broker, or other real estate professional. Your idea must be fleshed out with how you will actually implement the marketing campaign (not just an idea but the specifics). This is NOT an opportunity to tell us about som great service or product that real estate professionals should sign up for UNLESS you are using it in a unique way! Each person may submit only one entry! logo

The Prizes

The prizes are still being confirmed but here is what I know so far for sure!

1st Place

2,000 points

2nd Place

1,500 points

3rd Place

1,000 points

All participants

200 points - just for submitting an entry!

The Deadline

Entries must be submitted by Saturday, August 16, 2008. To submit an entry, write your submission as a blog and post it to the group Unique Marketing Contest - Summer Edition.

UPDATE!!! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as the top 3 runners-up will be featured in a special marketing edition of Active Rain's newsletter, to be sent to all AR members! So get those posts in!

Additional Update: The deadline is being extended to next Friday, August 23, 2008!!

Duane - It was really fun and there were sooooo many great ideas. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this go round!

This is great -- it will certainly get our creative juices going. Not a bad idea as the summer winds down.

Great, now I have to break out the thinking cap... I'm trying to think of something that isn't a gimmick and that I would actually do.

I think you'll elicit some valuable marketing techniques......Can you throw in a couple of airplane tickets as well? (I know, wishful thinking, right?)

So who won the contest Renae?

Renae... my comment and email wasn't rude, since you left people hanging more than a week after your contest ended, I'm asking you the same questions they asked me since you had posted this in The Art Of Marketing You group.

I simply asked you to have the courtesy to let people know who the winners are so they will stop asking me. If you find that rude, please don't post contests in our group in the future. I'm way too busy to deal with this kind of stuff. Deleting my earlier comment asking for you to answer member's questions about your contest wasn't the best way to handle this!

Marti - Your comment itself wasn't rude. It was the way that you presented it. I'm absolutely sure no one expects you to know everything going on with a contest simply because the details of said contest were posted in your group.

It has not been "more than" a week since the contest ended. The contest deadline was midnight on last Saturday, August 23. So I've had since Sunday to figure out the winners. As I mentioned to you PRIVATELY via e-mail, I've had a difficult time coordinating the judges because their schedules have been very busy. Today was our goal to get the results posted.

No one has been "left hanging." I guess others are just a bit more patient than you are. Or at least more professional about discussing it. And yes, I did delete your previous comment, only to find that, for someone who was "way too busy to deal with this kind of stuff," you found the time to post the same comment on each of my blog posts about this contest. Your comment was deleted because I felt it was inflamatory and unnecessary to have posted on my blog.

The problem with so many people these days is that you think it is perfectly ok to air your laundry in public - on a PUBLIC forum - and to say whatever you want, in whatever way you want to say it. That is no so and I don't like it. Not having all the facts in hand, it was completely inappropriate of you to post that comment about my "not being courteous" to the contest participants since you had absolutely no idea what was going on. The PROFESSIONAL thing to do is just what you did - e-mail me and ask about the delay. Professional Courtesy. Look it up!

wow Renae. Kind of surprised you got that kind of response. It took a couple weeks last time you ran the contest and because you had such great entries I figured it would take time. Thanks for being our fearless leader and running a great contest like this... it was my pleasure to take part in the contest and to await the results of the winners!
