I have had the benefit of transacting with almost all of the members of the 80's rock cover band Metalhead. My son's mother (and still a best friend) plays in a band herself and has been dating the bass player for years (several).
Last week, Jessica/ex-ica, thought it would be a good idea to head out to see them... to blow off some steam. As I'm closer to 40, I was a bit hesitant but she assured me that the crowd there (and there was definitely a crowd) was all ages and very cool.
So, on Sunday, one of the last ones left before my boys head back to school, we headed out to Martini Ranch, in Scottsdale, AZ to see the MOST AMAZING SHOW I have ever seen put on!
- Light show (Thanks to Robert Kagnoff who handled the light switch equipment like he was playing a sophisticated instrument of his own)
- Sound technician (By the time I met him I had quite a bit. I think his name was Pat and he made the sound incredible)
- John Colby - Bass
- Gary Sanchez - Drums
- Robert Mason - Incredible range on this singer
- John Bronson - Guitar
These guys rocked it out! Many of those in the crowd appreciated the music of Def Leppard, Cinderella, Poison, Guns N' Roses, etc. (Playlist)
It was like going to a concert and hearing the best of the best groups without having to hear the filler songs on the albums.
If you appreciated the music put out by the 80's rock bands (they did have catchy music) then you would definetely appreciate going to Metalhead and taking a break from it all. If you're visiting Arizona, make sure to see them!
I have not been to Martini Ranch in years. Thanks for sharing.
